If I ask myself this question far from my own emotions and feelings I agree with Hardi, education is something against your will. It depends on the culture in the place where you are living and the social rules you need to learn. It's a process through the knowledge, values, customs and forms of action are transmitted and inculcated into your brain. It's a social process, it's social pressure, it should be a social process aiming a society with the same rules and values.
If I think about the question as I am, education process need pointing the respect of/for the others, for yourself and the nature. But what we could do with that people which haven't respect?
I know here a wise man who can write his own name with difficulties, I know some rude but illustrated, finally, I know some animals with two legs, people that only understand the law of the strongest behavior. Have all societies their own rules for each one?
Well, definitely, it's not a simple question. Therefore it arises so many related questions and discussions.
My definition of education in general and of the proper education, obviously, was changing through the time.
Now I came to the conclusion that the proper education was implied to bring into your life two following fundamental things:
1) to make you useful for others and hence make others willing to pay for your job (not only money, but also respect, advice or another service etc.)
2) to establish your personal core - who you are, what your values are, what your goals in your life are, how to choose the right people in your life.
Actually, the second is the first by importance, for it rules over your self-realization. To make the first you need the second.
To enjoy your education, in my opinion, you should view it as your self-building, that is to be a master of it (definitely not a slave).

It's something forced into you by someone, who thinks that he/she is right. Either against your will, or by your demand and doesn't matter whether it is right or not. What's important, is that the majority of society consider it as education.
Getting knowledge doesn't always mean getting educated. Sometime we could learn things that may be referred as being uneducated too. Like when being educated on streets then in it could be as being uneducated, or having street education.. like knowledge of thievery and etc...
So in the end education is something really complicated. It means getting knowledges but also not. Most it means being scolded. I think... It could mean also getting flogged, maybe... But well, we likely acquire some knowledge all the time, even when not aware of it. Therefore whatever the education can be, we receive surely also some knowledges together with it in proccess.
