  • Of course, I remember you one of my best virtue friends here. Thanks for the suggestions and ideas my virtue friend!

  • It is somewhat relevant but not literally because I have been actually asking for best ways for learning a new lesson/thing in general in our lives. Please feel free to post it, I love to hear new ideas.

  • I can't because I do not have the time again. Thanks though.

  •  Hi dear Mary,

Nice to meet you and thanks for engaging in discussion,

in fact, there is no surprise that chatting is useful for becoming fluent, but still I have some doubts so never thought to join in any chat room until now.

I need to know, how to find rigth person who is at appropriate level for forcing you into talking and also trusted and friendly,

    I can't wait to hear

    Thanks again

  • Hey TK Chan! Long time no see you around! I thought you left EC or something... I remember I used to chat with you and Mickey in the main chat room when I was a newcomer in EC, I've very good memories of that :)

Anyway, about your question here, what I do in my daily live is to talk a lot!
For me, the chat helped me A LOT for becoming fluent in english. In an instant message you don't have time to think that much.. you've to 'force' your brain to be fast, and that's a great 'brain trainer' :D

Now I don't chat that much (I don't have much time either) but I like to read all the time I can, to write blogs, reply discussions... And to make friends here and there helps a lot too, because it's a great motivation for improving yourself every day. :)

Thanks for coming up with this discussion TK!

  • Dear TK Chan,

    tell me,

if you think this subject isn't directly relevant to your topic, I can put it to my page :)

  • Hi Dear Lynee,

according to me, go to school gives people formal knowledge, but acquiring the spoken english skill is different and can't be gained from school.

Wow, That's the main point ! Thanks for touching on the important matter.

    • Maybe for some but that's not for all, because in school we learn not only english, there are other matters we have to learn and understand. Even surviving has to be learned or simply keeping one's head above water. There are things we have to learn by ourselves when we mingle with the others...  Well, you know it's not easy to start a conversation in actual... :) So, in the classroom we learn the correct usage of the language which is of utmost importance, then when outside we assimilate, digest and understand what's more acceptable. We cannot just talk and talk we have to understand or think before we speak.

And also I am giving that idea especially for beginners. (I think most of us started in the classroom.)

    • I see your point! However, I actually asked which are the best ways learning a new lesson in general in our lives? E.g. my teachers have always told me to read, read, read.

    • Yeap, I go along with you!
Academic studies are not enough... Or at least, they are not as essential for reaching a fluent english level as people use to think.
