  a   Well, it's no longer necessary to write letters which, I have to admit, I hate doing as it's so time-consuming. It's so easy to send text messages from your mobile or e-mail friends who live a long way away. Computer cameras also mean you can chat to people on the Internet and see them as well.

  b   Well, I'm sure that older people find modern technology quite frightening . Some of my parents' friends are terrified of anything computerised and have no idea how to use a mobile phone. On the other hand, people of my generation are so used to all this technology that we'd be lost without it .

c  They have replaced people in certain jobs , creating higher unemployment . They also tend to make people anti-social and isolated. I have some friends who spend all day messing around on their computers.
