The Thief

There is a thief among us! Inside our homes, our bedroom even in our bathroom he frolicks around!  He has taken away valuable things from us, playing with our kid, walk in the park, a visit to an ailing friend, a voluntary service to our neighbourhood, a lunch with a troubled friend, a barbeque party with relatives, a solitary tour of the library, church meetings, a new hobby. This thief is rampant he is everywhere he has many names : internet, computer, fb, twitter…Do you know what this thief has stolen from you?  Is it valuable? Can you share?

  •  Hi Camel thanks for stopping by, you are right!  It is self-contradictory but can I also say that that is our reality, we live in contradictions and if being self-contradictory hinders us to question these contradictions how then are able to know its negative consequences and if we are not able to assess it then how are we able to learn and grow from it?  We have to ask the questions in order to find the solutions even if sometimes in the process we contradict ourselves. I just think when we gain something from technology we also lose a little and I'd like to know if what you have lost was valuable to you. :)

  • It is unfortunately true Arif Saeed that we live in a complex world, it is like in the song "I can't live with or without you" we are torn between its benefits or consequences but I do believe we can still make a better choice right? Thank you for sharing! :)

Onee you are right!! We are smarter than technology, my thoughts exactly! Thanks for your wise comments! :)

Samuel, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! :)

  • SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY make our lives better an easier in lots of things. But, on the other hand, an excessive use of technology for useless/bad things/intentions can make our lives get worse. It's about consequences of science and technology itself. So, we should be wise to deal with technology.

Agree with arif saeed. But I don't think it's hypocrisy. We are smarter than technology itself, right? :)

  • I agree with you completely, that this thief spoil our lives, despite the many benefits I wish that could be arrested and executed, and then go to hell. Thanks for sharing.

  • Warning!
DON'T SPEAK AGAINST SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. It may hurt its believers, as it's emerged as a new religion recently. The religion for those, who have drunk nectar and never die. By the way, I am against inhumanity such as deadly weapons, pollutant inventions etc crept into a section of science. They are gradually destroying the world with the help of its believers. Another name of science and technology is hypocrisy, which is the sweetest poison. On one side, it facilitates the world, but other side, it ruins it. Isn't it a hypocrisy?
