PEACE is merely a definition made by awareness of human being or in other words, it comes from mind. As a result, PEACE is duly itself when people reach peace in mind, even when you lived in a top of mountain without any shadow of human kind you would still not approach the so called "peace" should your mind were jammed by notions..
