What does being open-minded mean?
Recently, I have met someone, who I believe, has the wrongest idea of “open-mind”.
To me, having an open mind means to be accepting of the differences.
I can’t belong to a certain circle which is known as being “open-minded” and reject others and look down at them and then claim to be open-minded. To accept doesn’t necessarily have to mean that you should adopt their lifestyle. Just ACCEPT that it’s different and there’s nothing wrong with it.
What do you think about having an open mind?

If you have a closed mind then you do not consider ideas of other people as being relevant. You have opinions that you aren't willing to change no matter how convincing is someone else's argument. You shut the door on anything they say.
That means that an open-minded person is one who considers other people's ideas and opinions and is willing to change their mind if necessary.
If someone could convince me that the Earth is flat, I would be willing to change my mind from being a person who believes the Earth is orbed. I have an open mind.
Shookrun ya Warda! People translate according to their desires. Nice discussion. Sorry for the late reply. I was absent for more than three months. Thanks again.
According to the dictionary, "having a mind respective to new ideas or arguments". so according to it I can say that to respect the ideas and criticism of others .
I think I'm an open-minded person but it doesn't mean that I accept anything as a truth.
I've got my point of view about many things.
I'd say I am a tolerant person. I hope it asnwers your question.
