English as a language is so important in modern context, so people across the planet have got an unending thirsty for studying English in every opportunity they receive. In fact, this drift in our societies is really practical because of the requirement of the English language in the existing settings. However, I think that we have to study a language on a broader platform of diverse components rather than in restricted groups established on the basis of religion, gender, nationality and so on and so forth. When we associate with different people in disciplined manner, I don’t think that we get some unnecessary problems; so within a disciplined framework, we all could work together respecting for the differences of others. Diversity is the forward drive of every issue concerned in the world. “Unity in diversity” is the rule of Mother Nature, so I think we all have to understand it as the most intelligent animal in the planet. We need to think on how to get united, not on how to get separated! So, I saw some groups here based on the gender, nationality etc. How do you think of this grouping pattern in relation to language learning process? Is it benefited? I would like to know about your opinion/s in this regard.

  • Hi Bimal!! In some cases it might be helpful because reunite people with similar interests, so those people would have more things to discuss. I saw one group just for women, but there is an explanation for that, according to the people from that group, they are not allowed to talk to men because of their culture/religion.

If you ask me if it's easier to learn English interacting with native speakers and different kind of people from different countries and therefore, with different accents, I would say yes. I don't have any data to prove that, it's just my opinion based on my own experience and people I know.

Feel free to correct any mistakes!!

  • Grouping may be benefited subject the activeness of the participants, which I do not find here in the majority of the groups. I have found only one group here and that is Honey Bee's group of activities, which looks ACTIVE so far.

So to avail maxim opportunity for learning on the site, one should come out of the shell of a group to enter in vast span.
