It's quite interesting to learn new culture once in awhile. Every place and tourist attraction has its own history.

I wish I could roam around the globe! But with MyEC, it looks like I'm traveling the world because of my friends here......

If I would be given the chance to personally see your country, where would you like me to spend my time with, and why?

  • Dear Robbie, If you come to my country Iran i will take you to Shiraz, Isfahan. There you can see many historical places. I will also take you to Tabriz, it's beautiful and the weather is cool. Welcome to my country.:)

  • My neighbor Mary, You can bet I'm not stingy at all when talking about wines and friends. Btw, 'Riojas' are a little overrated here, I suggest you to try a good 'La Mancha' even 'Valdepeñas'.
As for calimochos are not that bad now in summertime hehe...

Estanis knows me pretty well: I'm totally AGAINST bullfighting or any other similar cruel 'entertainment' where animals are mistreated and/or killed just for a morbid 'fun'. If people are gored (it doesn't happen too often) I'm sorry for them, but it's their choice to be in front of the bull. But the bull has no choice and it's the one killed for sure at the end... Anyway, whatever it is, thanks Robbie for not to like that either, I'm happy for that!  (Btw you reminded me that I've a 'pending blog' where I want to write about it! So thanks for that too!)

Estanis c'mon! don't be stingy! You can invite him (us) to try a good Rioja or Ribera del Duero instead! And I'd like to join that vermouth too :D

  • @ Mary

I'm so glad you're not in favor of Bull Festival. I can't see a point where those bulls are used for entertainment. I guess there's a thrill when some participants are being chased by bulls only to find themselves in humiliation and hurt and when they see themselves in a very awkward situation. In my country we have a rodeo festival but it's unpopular yet and it's not as horrifying as bull festival.

By the way, those drinks sound very interesting. I read on Wiki that Ribera del Duero is a wine-producing region in your country. I bet if I went there I would see both heaven and earth! :)

Let me know about the blog you're talking about. I can't wait to read it! I'm sure it'd be a HIT! Thanks! :)

  • Hola, Estanis!

I love to join the Tomatina Festival, but I can't leave the country at this time. But I have a favor for you to do, could you throw those lovely tomatoes to any participants for me? Lol! I mustn't do it here because I'm surely get apprehended. :)

And you're right about Mary. I'm glad both of you aren't in favor about the Bull Festival. I guess every country has its own weird and unjust traditions. Last month I watched a news about hundreds of dogs being killed and eaten as part of culture. :( :( :(

Anyway, thanks for the drinks! If I find a vermouth here, I'll give it a try. I haven't had a sip of it yet. :)

  • Hmmm... I don't think our friend Mary likes bull festivals, actually neither I like them and perhaps most of people here but it's an stigma we have to carry on :/
But I'd take you to try our red wine with cola and a little vermouth haha... I bet you'll like it! Btw, tomatina festival is coming, will you join?

Ha ha! That's funny, Mary! That would do, I think. Just don't take me to a bull festival. I couldn't fathom people being gored to death by those animals. Do you like attending such festival in Spain? Gracias! :)

  • I'll take you to the airport, while yelling:
"Run Robbie, run! Spaniards are crazy! They mix wine and Coke! Save yourself!!!"
