Eid Mubarak is just around the corner. I am wondering how do you celebrate your Eid Mubarak. Over here, most of my siblings and their families will gather in my Mom's house. We are really one big family, so some of us will sleep all over the house. LOL.
In the morning of the Eid, normally we will wake up early. After the Eid bath, normally the men will get ready first, we have a simple breakfast. After that, the men will go to the Mosque for Eid prayer.
After the Eid prayer, we will visit the grave of our late father and read some prayer for him. Then, we will gather back in the house and ask forgiveness from each other. normally at this time, we will give packets filled with money to the younger ones.
Then, the waiting game begins for most of us for the kids and relatives come and visit.
So tell me a little bit of how you celebrate your Eid Mubarak.

Hi ♥ shabeen ♥, I think it's become a tradition for us to have at least one new dress for this occasion. Yeah, normally we will start cooking the delicious food on the Eve night of the Eid. It's the fun and happy time for my family. Some of us will change the cushion's cover and curtains to new ones. It may be tiring, but there's always laughter around.
Happy Eid Mubarak to you and your family.
Hmmm ... Stephen.. over here, in Hari Raya Qurban, some of us will buy cow or goat and share it with neighbours.
I also buy some cookies for my friends and colleagues, and I'll have to do my house duties, beacuse all my maids will be going home.
Happy Eid Mubarak, dear Noas!
Hi Stephen, I do love ketupat and rendang. And lemang, and cookies ... and ... LOL. I think you get my drift. So if I want to avoid the Jakarta's infamous traffic jam, I should come at this time of the year. LOL.
Poor you. You have to do your own cooking and wash the dishes.
Happy celebrating the Eid Mubarak, Stephen.
Well Noaslpls , When Eid is coming I always remember these days when i was single ,when I stayed up all night till the Eid Prayer . All my friends an I gathered at a specific place then we planned how we will spend the night till the morning . In fact we did any thing comes in our mind without thinking.
But now , after being married i must be at home before midnight and have a good sleep for the tough day i will face , starting with accompanying my kids to the mosque and then visiting all our relatives .
2nd day is the family day where we choose a good place to sped the rest of the vacation .
Hi Mohammed Elbably, I wonder whether you will let your kids stay up all night at Eid night too? LOL.
Normally over here, my family and I will visit our relatives that lives a bit far on the second day. The first day is spending with visiting friends and family that live nearby.
The holiday is normally for a short time, so it's a bit tiring due to the spending times visiting family and friends.
YEA you are right noaslps , It is a short holiday ,,, But when you have 3 naughty kids forcing you to play with them and take care of every thing around for fear of destruction. So, time does slowly and days become years.
It is out of my hand , sure they will pass through this period time where they will stay up all night .
Hahaha Mohammed Elbably, now everything seems longer, but I'm sure a few years after this, you will "Where the time has gone?"
Happy Eid Mubarak to you and your kids and your family.
thank you noas ... Happy Eid to you too
