First you should plan how to quit the bad habit then practice;for example, if you wish to reduce salt from your food regime, first make this plan and then practice it.
1. not to put salt on the table
2. pour a little salt in food
3. avoid eating salty food such as fast food, canned food, prepared soup.......
By keeping yourself busy in positive activities :).
By the way, every bad habit needs different technique to get ride of it. So, my reply is not exact answer. However, it may help to overcome somehow. :)

For me too. Willpower is very important, but I think that is important the help from your friends and your family. Unity is strenght!!!!
