Whenever I hear a southern accent, Blanche Dubois starts fighting with Stanley (Brando)in my head. Hmmm, Stella...Hey Stellaaaa....
Try not to focus on accent. Instead, put your effort in to the sounds (phonetics) of English, rhythm, and intonation. That's where your fluency will come from! :D
