This is very simple. Ask them, "tell me what do you see in this picture?"
encourage and motivate them answering first yourself, e.g. "I see sun rising" Or I see birds sitting on a tree."
You will will see how differently each and every student observe in his/her own way.
This is what I think, it can be further eleborated by real experts.
