As an English teacher,do you think translation To your mother-tongue is a useful way in helping English learners ?

 Have you exprienced Teaching English to your students by translation,what is /are the reslut(s) ?

  •    Yes,you are  right as for underdeveloped or developing countries in regard to teaching English withwout translating some words or short texts .

      The other thing is also, the matter of if the students are second english learners or foreign english learners ,like in my country.

  • English as  much as possible ....

    Different approach could  be used without  using much of the mother  tongue 

    Encourage  them  if they are  adults  or secondary students  to use  the  dictionary Mother  tongue/ English   or  better  English  only 

    If  they are  younger  students  teaching  tools  as  visuals  are  useful 

  • I agree its better to teach english only than using translator.
  • me too,because this make students are used to using only English and this help in improving their own English faster .

  • I think ,to somehow you are right, specially in country when English is taught as foreign english not as a second english .

  • It is better to teach English through English only.This will enable the child to think in English.

    •  I totally disagree to this point beacuse teaching a language (e.g  English ) is different from a country to another in depending uopn the situation there .
