Carnival

This week we had a holiday here in Brazil called Carnival. It's a time when people go to parties to sing and dance all nights and days during five days. Each region in the country has a particular way to celebrate it. In Rio de Janeiro, for example, there's a big parade with samba schools, which spend all the year working hard and preparing everything to do a great job. As the parade is a competition among the schools, unfortunately only one wins and gets an excellent prize that (I imagine) is a

HANOI'S OLD QUARTER

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam where I have lived.

where will you arrive if you come to Hanoi. Of course, you can't not arrive at Hanoi's Old Quarter(the 36 streets).

As the oldest continuously developed area of Vietnam. Hanoi's Old Quarter has a history that spans 2,000 years and represent the eternal soul of the city. Located between the lake of Restored Sword and the Longbien bridge, a former city rampart and a citadel wall. The Old Quarter started as a snake and alligator- infested swamp. It

A Helping Hand

As I'm thinking on what blog should I write. It suddenly pops out in my head, the tragedy that hit northern Japan yesterday. A magnitude 8.9 quake hits Sendai at around 2:45 pm. After 30 minutes, a gigantic tsunami wipes out the entire city, leaving thousands of people feared dead. There are reports that the nuclear reactor has damaged and the possible of leakage is expected. Let us hope that the damage to that reactor will not push through as it will greatly affects the health of people living

Have you ever wonder what makes success? Is it luck? Or hardwork? Or anything else? Who knows. Because everyone has his own tactics. But there is a formula for success for all. I learned it at my university. I think it is helpful for our future plans.First, we assume the order of the letters in the alphabet is their ordinal number. Hi!

Hi everybody!

First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name’s Esther, I’m 21 and I’m from Barcelona, in Spain. I’m finishing Advertising degree at University of Barcelona (I’m doing the 4th course now).

I’ve found this English club by chance, when I was looking for some practice English in the Internet. I’ve observed a little the web page and I think this could be a good way to improve my English.

I studied English in the school from I was a child until I was seventeen, but in my opinion

Who are you: lark or owl?

Hello everybody! As all you know, there are two types of people when it comes to getting up and getting on with things. Of course we have also and third type of people, it is a dove, people who can adapt to any time and be active during all day. But let’s talk about lark and owl.

Thank you very much for sending your sincere condolences to the people hit by the terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Please be advised that tsunami can affect anywhere on the Pacific rim and islands even one day after the quake. In 1960, more than a hundred Japanese people were killed by a big tsunami that had traveled across the Pacific Ocean from South America, Chille. It was 22 hours after the earthquake.

Moreover, continuous aftershocks are expected this time. So, please stay alert for
