Sparrows

When I was at a shopping mall, to my delight and awe, there were sparrows nesting in some of the so called just right nesting habitat. What a way to accommodate to human situations; in cool air-conditioned huge place ; and there were many, feasting  on the fresh coriander leaves and grains of several varieties; despite the people moving around, the commotion, loud music. They seem to be human lovers. No wonder we often find them nesting in some pipe holes, or in corners of lofts in the house.  N

Yes, I mean 'determiners' by 'articles'. A/an is called 'indefinite article', while 'the' is called 'definite article'.

Articles can be so tricky to use, though. Sometimes you need to put an indefinite article before a noun or noun group, while sometimes you should use a definite article instead, or don't use anything, which is callled 'zero article'.

You say 'the Great Wall', 'the BBC', 'the University of London' but 'Hyde Park', 'CNN', 'Beijing University'. 'In prison' and 'in a prison' don't

The Charms of Mathematics

This is what I found in my e-mail box this morning, sent by my cousin Anthony from Canada:

Here is a display of the charms  of Mathematics

                                    1 x 8 + 1 = 9

                                  12 x 8 + 2 = 98

                                123 x 8 + 3 = 987

                               1234 x 8 + 4 = 9876

                             12345 x 8 + 5 = 98765

                           123456 x 8 + 6 = 987654

                         1234567 x 8 + 7 = 9876543

As I Lay Dying

"I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens."

- Woody Allen

Nice try! I'm sure it's the black humor talking, Allen. Death happens sooner or later. And you'll be there, pal. Some famous people lived a quiet life. But their deaths caused quite a stir. So did their dying utterances. You can't help but notice that some of these distinguished artists' last words encapsulate their personas, you know?

Some glimpses of our China tour.

During our China visit, of course, we had some fun and tension along with our busy schedule. Here they are.

1. On the flight from Dhaka to Guangzhou we passed through a storm. I always get tension during air journey. So, you may understand how I felt. I just hold the front chair and remembering the name of the Almighty. But, some people had no tension at all. They were about to go to WC and got rebuked from the air hostess. And, on the other hand, I was dying in my deep down...lol

2. For the first

Sunset

It's always this hard to start write something from inside my mind. I watch movies too much and listen songs I don't like at all, everyday. what could make me cooler than a hero with a strong heart and a bunch of lucky? Nothing. I am special in my own way, less and more. when I tell people about my case, it doesn't mean I am weak, I don't want to make some people worry too, or let some people laugh at my pain, believe me, it's not my style to grieve in social network so all the people will know

This is MARY's comment on Waht deos dyxlesia kloo lkie?

"I wanted to comment here before, but I made the mistake to try to 'solve' grammar problems in a blog here, and I just got a brain attack.... I'm recovering now, so excuse me if my comment is kind of clumsy haha

Fortunatelly, now we know that dyxlesia is not an obstacle to reach your goals. And it's far from being an intellectual limitation!

Back in 2006, Scholz & Friends, an ad agency, (more like Yogi Bear & Friends, Ha ha!) designed an ad campaign for a German recruitment website called Jobsintown.de. They came up with a slogan roughly translated as “Life’s too short for the wrong job.” The pictures are sort of self-explanatory. It is painfully obvious that the people in these photos do not seem happy. Duh!

Quick question: You're stuck with a job that is sucking the life out of you. There are two options available. Naturally.

CORRECTIONS

Most learners want their writings to be corrected by a Teacher of English, an English Native Speaker, or at least a member who's fluent in English. But you may see this rarely happen here. Have you ever thought why? Hey, who doesn’t want to be taught English freely?? Your writing may be understandable enough. Maybe it's about the language, not always the grammar. I think it would be a hard work to correct all the writings by the non-English Native Speakers. :)

You’re very enthusiastic in learning

Find and Correct a Mistake

2347240576?profile=originalMy dear friends! I decided to join my “star husband”, Danny  Clark,  and to teach you some English, too. As I have been teaching English grammar and training for TOEFL for many years, you will be getting mostly grammar-based tasks from me. So, let’s start!

To begin with, here are 10 sentences. There is at least one grammar mistake in each of them. So, your task is to find the mistakes, to correct them, to explain them (if you can) and to give your examples.

For example:

The given sentence:

He left b

I enter in “company bagh” Public Garden at 9 am. It is very beautiful garden in which there are bunch of trees and also due to good weather and spring season the environment is very pleasant. This garden has many blocks like Family Park, public garden, library, IT park and basketball court.

Due to off day I saw a few families in the park, children were playing and cheering in this park. The condition and the cleanliness of Family Park is not good.

Doctor: Good morning Mr. Hall. What’s brought you along today?

Patient: Well, you see doctor, I’ve been having these headaches, you see and…

Doctor: Aha and how long have they been bothering you?

Patient: Er, well, they started about, well, it must have been about three months ago.

Doctor: I see, and which part of your head is affected?

Doctor: Mm, and can you describe the pain?

Patient: Erm, it’s a sort of dull, dull and throbbing kind of pain

Sizda Bedar is an Iranian festival, held annually on the thirteenth day of Nowruz, Iranian New year. People leave houses to join nature, and spend the day outdoors. It is an ancient ceremony and a public holiday.

Today, (the thirteenth in outdoors), I woke up and felt my eyes were very itchy, because I’m allergic to spring……I went to a Day-night pharmacy to buy eye drops, there were two girls working in the pharmacy, one of them was working with a laptop, she was crying quietly!

Our pet

One day my brother brought a puppy in our house.I really hate dogs and I am scared of them too.All of them agreed to keep the puppy because its cute and I was the only one so, had to agree. They kept his name Hachi.

I had no problem when my family is there because they will do everything with him.But when they are not at home it was a great torture for me because I had to clean his dirty stool where he will pass it everywhere. Then, after cleaning his stool I will beat him like anything.

Waht deos dyxlesia kloo lkie?

I bet it was hard to read the title, wasn't it? Your reading speed was interrupted as you were trying to 'decode' those weird-looking words. Very frustrating, huh? This is how a dyslexic feels every time they want to read something. Welcome to their world! Dyslexia is a general term for disorders that involve difficulty in learning to read or interpret words, letters, and other symbols, however, that do not affect general intelligence.
