Negative Impact of cell phones on Relationships
Dear Friends,
I know you all are quite familiar with this topic, so I don’t want to write a long story on this but a few things which I have observed in my everyday life.
Yesterday my friend had arranged an evening party to introduce her would-be. She was so much excited that she did everything by herself. We were delighted to attend the party. However it turned out to be the worst party we ever had in our life. He was on the mobile whole time chatting with his friends and it seems like he had even forgotten that we were there for meeting him. She was totally upset by his strange behavior and ended up with a fight. Why are we behaving so stupid in front of others?
Where are we heading to? A place where one can't leave their mobile for an hour, but can live without seeing their spouse for months. You know what many marriages have been affected by the adverse use of cell phones. A new study reveals that 60% of divorces are due to the excessive use of mobiles. It is one of the reasons for extra marital affairs too.
People would laugh at you if you say you don't have a cell phone. It is a prestigious issue to get the latest version of cell phones. Technology is growing faster, whereas relationships are getting weaker day by day. We feel very much excited to see an old friend online to chat, but we often forget our dear ones. Are we losing our privacy due to the adverse use of mobiles? I have seen many times in restaurants were husband and wife busy in their own world. They don't have anything to share. Moreover, we are molding our next generation to use mobiles from the younger stage. Why are we not teaching them to value relationships? Can you tell me 20 years from now where the world would be?

“We feel very much excited to see an old friend online to chat, but we often forget our dear ones” .That is a very true .
We as a family used to live in a small room altogether watching TV which had 2 channels .Where the harmony prevailed among all family members , now everything has been changed because of technology .We are no longer family members , as if we live in hotel which has many rooms and every one busy with himself . Thank you .
I am the one who doesn't own a cell phone............every in my does. I even do not know how to use it properly.
@Rajesh - Finger crossed :)
May people make right uses of technology! :)
Hi Ha and flower - I totally agree with you :)
Hi ohnie -
The problem is that working men/women are not getting sufficient time to use their smart phones while they are at office. Accordingly when they reach home they get swamped in checking social networking sites so they don’t have enough time to spare with the family. In my opinion culprit is not the phone or users but it’s the addiction we have towards the smart phones.
@ Bob -Thank you Sir for pointing out my mistakes, hereafter I will be very careful with spellings :)
Thank you Niki. You will want to check the difference between quiet and quite because the spelling difference changes the meaning.
This is a very good topic and mobile phones do bring a lot of bad along with the good. When you said her would be, do you mean the one she will marry? If that is the case I would use quote marks and a hyphen like this...her "would-be".
If you do that then people will realize that you are talking about a specific person. You can also say "intended" or fiance.
Very good blog Niki!
This really is a growing problem. Smartphones are now made available for anyone, in other words, we can hardly see people using basic phones nowadays. Can't deny the benefits of these smart "guys" as they make it much more convenient for users to do almost any task, but just like that we become addicted to them, sometimes without us noticing. We need more and more blogs like yours, which bring out truth about the downside of smartphones, to hopefully raise awareness of many users and they would be more mindful that they should use their phones wisely. Me, I'm still sticking to my call-and-text-only Nokia for good since I don't trust my ability to handle a smartphone :D My PC and laptop are more than enough for me to stay connected with friends :)
