“May I come in please?”
“Come in, please!” David looked up and saw his new secretary, “hmmm…”, he muttered and frown.
“I am Magi, your new secretary, Linda told me you liked drinking coffee at this time everyday, here it is. Anything you need, please let me know.” While she turned around and was about to leave, David suddenly let out a question, “Do I know you before?” in a low curious voice. “Excuse me? I beg your pardon!” Magi stopped and turned back. “Nothing, you can leave for your work now, thanks for your coffee.”
David felt so familiar with the new secretary, but it was strange that he couldn’t remember where he had met her before and it seems the girl didn’t know him at all, either. How come? This question haunted him so much that he wanted to figure it out. Soon afterwards, he made a call to Linda and asked some questions about Magi, but he got nothing different from Magi’s profile.
When he worked off, he walked into the lift and happened to meet Magi again. “Hello!” “Hello!” they greeted to each other. The lift was so empty, just they two, it was late, the others had left. David was a very kind boss, walking out the building of the company, he asked Mary, “It is late, would you like me to send you home?” “Oh, that’s great, thanks so much!”
Then David opened the car door for Magi. “What a gentleman!” Magi thought this and smiled.
“How long have you been here?”
“Um… I arrived in Miami three months ago, and Linda picked me up here last week.”
“How do you think of Los Angeles?”
“It is very nice, people here are friendly and hard-working. I like here!”
“Glad to hear that, what’s your hobby?”
“Walking along the beach.”
Something occurred to David, but before he figured it out, Magi told him she arrived home. On the way back home, David kept thinking the thing he had thought of just now, but he couldn’t remember anything.
“Beach…beach!” He was about to sleep when suddenly the word came into his brain. He walked as fast as he could into his studio and found out the picture he drew months ago in Miami. “Haha, yes, I knew you! You are in my picture!” Seeing the girl the picture, David couldn’t believe the coincidence, “What a small world!” he told to himself…
