It is a well known saying or proverb in my country. Here, elderly citizens like to use it to teach the young people. Yes, we should strike while the iron is hot. Otherwise, we may miss something good.

Every year, sales are available during summer. Most of the big shopping malls  offer it. I can see this sort of advertisements almost everyday in the dailies. But, I think, I should strike the iron while it is hot otherwise they may change the offer.

One year back, I got a job. It was in the U.K. But I took much more time and missed it. Recently, I have got another chance. Now, I want to strike the iron while it is hot!

It happens mostly in the villages. Farmers want to get perfectly ripen paddies to get home. Then their wives can manage them properly. Specially, they do not need to dry them more under the sun. But, sometimes, rains come and the paddies get soaked. So, it is better make hay while the sun shines.

Now, come to the reality. I have been telling my kid to study properly. As, her exam is very near, just knocking at the door. But, it seems , she can't hear me! I told her last night, '' Hey, baby, strike the iron while it is hot, otherwise you will see!"

  • Thanks, everybody for stopping by.

  • Good writing. In Persian we have a proverb similar to this one. They say put the bread in tandoor(furnace ) when it is hot.
  • Great use of the idiom!

You really cracked me up when I read 'strike the iron while it is hot' - yes, you got it; it's more vivid than 'strike while the iron is hot'.

Another example: If you're in a good mood or in the mood, try to write more - strike while the iron is hot.

  • Thanks a lot.
  • sales  sells
