Let’s go green! Welcome back for another writing challenge. This month I’d like you to write something about a blissful place. No, I’m not talking about your travel or recent vacation, but it’s much appealing than you think – a garden! Do you have one? Mine is a bit disorganized that’s why I’d like to challenge you to share about your garden or plants that you’ve been taking care of recently. We could find some inspiration and new ideas that’d be useful to fellow plant lovers. Moreover, it’s a great way to practice our written English while exchanging some tips and tricks in managing the garden.
The aim of this activity is to practice using complex sentences as well as the proper usage of vocabulary words related to plants and gardening. Here's a useful lesson about sentence structure.
Your Task:
- What’s your garden look like? Practice describing it. Is it big or small? Try to use new vocabulary words.
- What types of plants or trees that we can find in your garden? You could include some photos! You can highlight the name of the plants and some words that you find new to you. They stick to your readers’ minds better.
- Do you find gardening as an exciting activity or just a past time? Tell us your overall impression about your garden. You can include some tips to better manage a garden.
- Write two to three paragraphs answering the questions above. Share the link of your blog on the comment box below with the title- Writing Challenge: My Garden/Plants. You could come up with a unique title too. Don’t forget to proofread your blog!
If you don’t have a garden, you can still join the challenge by simply blogging about a garden that you’ve visited. What about your neighbor or a friend’s garden in your area?
So if you’re up for the challenge, let’s start blogging and make our MyEC community bloom again with your interesting ideas and fabulous gardens.
Here's my writing challenge entry.

Hello, Mary!
Wow! It's true that you have a cute yard! It's quite greenish and the flowers served as complements. Thank you for showing your interest about this challenge. We can't wait to hear your wacky stories about your yard.
Happy gardening!
Robbie :)
Robbie! How nice to see you coming up with another lovely topic. I love plants! :)
I don't have a garden but a small yard that I've loaded with plants, as if I had a kind of 'diogenes syndrome' that makes me hoard compulsively all kind of plants XD
Thanks to this challenge I'll take in mind to write about it soon in a blog, but now I share here a picture of how does it look my small yard in summer :)
Thanks for the challenge!
Hey, Risty!
I'm glad to hear that! I'll check it at once.
Robbie :)

Hello, Shekhar!
Welcome to MyEC! Happy Christmas! Thank you for commenting. Don't be harsh to yourself. You could start writing about the things or topics you like. Start by writing simple sentences and as you improve your English, you could make your sentences into complex ones. If someone leaves a comment on your blog, don't forget to respond to it. It's actually another way to practice your written English and make conversation.
You can write a blog by simply clicking the blog section of our MyEC page and click 'add' or the 'add a blog post' from your own page.
Wishing you an awesome time blogging on our club!
Robbie :)
