Writing Challenge: My Bookprint

These are what I remember now. Of course I remember more red books, but let me start from this list... All these books was red in Russian.

The Doomed City by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky - I red it in difficult period of my life. And probably this books works more effectively exactly at the difficult moments. Book is fantastic! It's about everything. And this book is positive. Actually I really love brothers Strugatsky. I red many their books and I like almost everything.

The same I can say about Haruki Murakami. I red all his novels and I love all of them. I didn't read stories, because I don't like stories at all, they are too short. This guy is very optimistic and positive. All his books are about main values - family, love, friendship. And he always has happy end. So last red (and written actually) novel was 1Q84. About love.

Shogun by James Clavell - Long and very interesting book! About English helmsman from Dutch ship who traveled to Japain at 1600 or something like that. Samurais, love, duty, honour... This book left something positive and good in my heart.

Criptonomicon by Neal Stephenson - about guy from our days and his grandfather at time of WWII. About cryptography, gold, love, friendship, computer technologies, adventures... Very interesting book.

Little Brother by Cory Doctorow - modern (2007) cyberpunk about teenagers in San Francisco who fight against Big Brother. Again positive book for me. Actually I like novels about strong people :)

I'm new guy on this site, I registered just today and I don't have friends yet, so I will skip my bio for the moment :)

  • Dear Tara,

Thank you for your challenges! Ideas are very interesting!

I read "Anna Karenina" at school, 20 years ago :)

Actually I prefer science fiction. At school I hated subject "Literature", because not all books were interesting for me.

Looking forward for future Writing Challenges!

  • @Toont

Welcome to MyEC! Thank you for putting so much effort into your first post. It's great that you joined the writing challenge! I haven't read any of these books. I did read a few books by Russian authors (in English) in university. Have you read "Anna Karenina"? I loved that book. In fact, your post reminded me that I should read it again.

English tip: "red" is the colour; "read" - past tense (though pronounced like "red") is spelled the same as the present tense  "read" (pronounced "reed")

  • Welcome to MYEc....I really appreciate your participation on Writing Challenge on the very first day....Keep Going...

  • Actually today, at morning, I see my mistakes about using of "was/were" and "s" at the end of verb...

  • Good, then !
    Thanx...
  • Dears,

I appreciate you support! Thanks a lot! :)

⊱ Mickey ⊰, if you have enough time to write bio for me it will be great! :)

Sniper Venom, you are right, "red book" it's past from "read" (and passive as well in some places if I understand it correct) :)

  • As far I can remember, the past form of the verb '' read '' is the same with itself but it differs in pronunciation as u've writen...
Actually, I just supposed that '' red books '' is a specific type of the books like '' yellow magazines '' ! haha...
    But I got it when u said '' I red '' !
    Anyway, am I right ?
or that's kinda special book ?!
  • Intresting and admirable !
    Keep it up !
