I begin with an excerpt from my favourite book “The Little Prince”
“ What does that mean--'tame'? It is an act too often neglected," said the fox. “ It means to establish ties. “ "Just that," said the fox. "To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world . . .""I am beginning to understand," said the little prince. "There is a flower . . . I think that she has tamed me . . ."
"My life is very monotonous," the fox said. "I hunt chickens; men hunt me. All the chickens are just alike, and all the men are just alike. And, in consequence, I am a little bored. But if you tame me, it will be as if the sun came to shine on my life. I shall know the sound of a step that will be different from all the others. Other steps send me hurrying back underneath the ground. Yours will call me, like music, out of my burrow.
And then look: you see the grain-fields down yonder? I do not eat bread. Wheat is of no use to me. The wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that is sad. But you have hair that is the color of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you have tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back the thought of you. And I shall love to listen to the wind in the wheat . . ."
"One only understands the things that one tames," said the fox. "Men have no more time to understand anything. They buy things all ready made at the shops. But there is no shop anywhere where one can buy friendship, and so men have no friends any more. If you want a friend, tame me . . .""What must I do, to tame you?" asked the little prince.
"You must be very patient," replied the fox. "First you will sit down at a little distance from me--like that--in the grass. I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings. But you will sit a little closer to me, every day . . ."
"It would have been better to come back at the same hour," said the fox. "If, for example, you come at four o'clock in the afternoon, then at three o'clock I shall begin to be happy. I shall feel happier and happier as the hour advances. At four o'clock, I shall already be worrying and jumping about. I shall show you how happy I am! But if you come at just any time, I shall never know at what hour my heart is to be ready to greet you . .
The little prince went away, to look again at the roses. "You are not at all like my rose," he said. "As yet you are nothing. No one has tamed you, and you have tamed no one. You are like my fox when I first knew him. He was only a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But I have made him my friend, and now he is unique in all the world." (The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery)
We live our lives zooming past each other, without touching, without noticing, we don’t stop to tame…to make someone feel loved and special. And yet how do we go about doing this when everything around us moves so fast, tell me how do we pause?
Here on EC there is a beautiful way to pause…it is called “Comment” when one stops by to read what has been carefully thought of by the writer, to write down their opinion of it, their understanding of it, their love of it, then we touch, we connect, we tame.
Please tame me said the fox…so that no one may be left behind, so that we all see that we are one, universal, human race…please do stop by, do leave your mark… do leave your beautiful comment.

I love reading your blogs.
Indeed MyEC is one of life pleasures for me. It's the place where I will try to unwind after such hectic work days, though sometimes it's the opposite if you're chatting in the main room. LOL. I think every members should always try to be kind and connect with each other through reading and commenting on blogs.
We must show our appreciation to everyone who has shown their bravery by writing and posting even a simple piece of writing in English because it took a lot of guts to write in other language. Sometimes even a simple appreciation in the comment will make a lot of difference to the writer.
I love so much this book! It's a 'Must Read'.
Your post took me back from when I read this book for the first time, and I remember I was speechless after reading every chapter! :D I think I don't know anybody who read this book and didn't change their lives or points of view in some way. Thanks for sharing a part of this masterpiece :)
Excellent!
We need to be tamed by each other! I may have tamed some of our members by commenting on their blogs.
No big deal...
Thanks, too for sharing...The Little Prince is one of my favorite books... :)
Dear Setareh that is so nice to hear, what a wonderful coincidence! I love the book and the message never leaves me and I am happy that we have that in common. I do feel special here on EC and I have you to blame for that! hahaha Thanks for your warm acceptance, I like being tamed! :)
You made me smile with your comment! You too have allowed me to enter your life through your poems and writings and so I guess that makes us even when it comes to being tamed! :)
Yes Grace we can begin with ourselves, perhaps someone is simply waiting for us to make the first move to tame. Glad you passed by and gave me a nudge with your nice comments. :)
Hi Michelle thanks for your comment, we would all benefit from being tamed and I am happy you share my thoughts on this. :)
I am already tamed by your writings.
