Page-150 from mishaikh’s Biography

It was a very pleasant day, when MI’s younger brother asked to go out for a walk on the beach.  MI was curious, because this was the last thing his younger brother would ask him, because he always liked to be in the company of friends rather than to go out with MI.

‘Yes, what is it?” MI asked his brother.  They were walking on the beach, the sun seemed tired and wanting to lie down on the horizon.

“We have, I mean we all, Mom, sister and other brothers decided to get you engaged with Yasmeen.”

“What are you talking about, you know I am not ready yet, how come you all decided without even asking me.”

MI was shocked and seemed worried.

“You know that bhai (eldest brother) had refused to marry, and all that hue and cry after his engagement, and the breake-up of engagement.  Mom want the remaining two me and you get married, and now if you follow the steps of bhai there will be even more hue and cry than it had already happened before.”

MI’s younger brother tried to convince him. “And you know who is she (Yasmeen) she is one of the members of our closed family, she is one of us. So be sensible and do not be stubborn.  Just leave it to me, I will get a year’s time for you to mentally prepare yourself.  You know Yasmeen, she is well educated, a government college associate professor, secured job.  She will be a good mother of your children.  Yours and her income combined will be enough for the better future of your kid’s.”

MI was convinced but nervous.  “Did you people ask her about this, is she ready?”

“Yes she is happily ready, we have already asked her.  Believe me it is a perfect match!” He nodded in affirmation to his younger brother and first time gave his hand in his brother’s hand may be just to console himself.

MI was deep in thought while they both walked back to home.  He was thinking whether it was possible that a man could get his very first love (a quiet, unspoken, undeclared love), as his life partner, for whom he longed since he came into the senses of boyhood, since he started to know the ‘LOVE’.

That was 26th of February next year when MI was lucky enough to tie a knot with his FIRST LOVE.
