About eight years ago, one of my relatives gave me her pet Cupid that she just bought from a pet store because it was the time she would give birth to her first baby, she then decided to give him to me in that she worried the baby might suffer from allergy owing to animal’s fur. Since then, I learned how to take care of a cat as I never had that experience before. Here are some little tips I’ve acquired and experienced from getting along with Cupid. Hope it would help for those who may want to be a cat keeper in the future.
1. Like what they are: Since they are not a dog, don’t expect they would act things like dogs, such as being very passionate toward you, following you wherever you go or looking after your house when you are not at home. Accepting their unique character that is different from a dog would be better for you and your cat.
2. Play with them: Make some time to play with them each day and say how you love them is essential because they are like a child as well as a member of your family. They also need you to pay attention to sometimes.
3. Take good care of them: Bring them to have a checkup, inoculate the multi-flu vaccine in the pet hospital, clean their ears with cotton swab, brush their fur with an exclusive comb and fix their claws regularly. Also, you need to care about their food. Basically, try not to let them eat human food or chocolate since some of materials in food may be bad for their health and metabolism.
4. Allow them to have a private space/time: They are more sensitive and calm than dogs. And they are three to four times hearing of human. They may hide some places where you are hard to find from time to tme. So, please try not to interrupt if you find they disappear temporarily, just leave them alone.
5. Prepare a warm bed: They fear cold weather, give them a comfortable place for rest is also important.
6. Give them the green light to break your furniture a bit sometimes: That doesn’t mean to spoil them to destroy any of your furniture. It means you have to be more bearable once they damaged your beloved furniture with their claws. Please see a good example of our poor sofa below.:(
7. Collect the adorable photos/videos: They would definitely have many interesting and funny postures that are valuable and memorable to keep by photos or videos. In addition, please hurry your speed of taking photos once you found one or more of their postures were good as they would probably not obey and cooperate with you well.

Don't be afraid of them, they are actually cute and friendly as long as we don't hurt them.
Eating dog meats would also happen in our country, especially in winter. People like eating black dogs particularly. They think black dogs are good for the body,but eating cats are few. There are so many food that could be eaten, why they want to eat these lovely creatures. I really can't understand.

@ Anele: We call these cats stray cats on the street. We do have this kind of situation near us. Some organizations assign to catch them to ligate, after that they let them back the places where they are living. By doing so, their population would be in control. Don't any institutions some methods to control them or send them to the collecting centers?
By the way, I do admit. If he were really my son, he would probably be spoiled. heheee..
