I aimed to give some useful information about “teaching” along with this interview.I thought that is useful for people who are interested in professional teaching.So it is not only an interview, but also a good opportunity to address some tricks for becoming a teacher.Selma: How long have you been teaching ?Bill: I have been teaching English for the past seven years. I am not a professional teacher but am a volunteer teacher.I charge no money for my services.Selma: Why did you decide to become a teacher?Bill: I wanted to help the many immigrants who come to the United States from other countries.Selma: What’s your educational philosophy and what do you think about approaching of the world ?Bill: I believe teaching English should be very practical and should emphasize how to use English in practical every-day situations.Selma: How do you describe yourself as a teacher ? -Patient, risk taker, energetic person, etc….Tell us about yourself.Bill: I can tell you what other people say about me as a teacher. They says I am extremely patient, funny, explain things well, compassionate toward my students and known English very well.Selma: What was the last book you read.Bill: I am reading a book called, “The Reason for God in an Age of Skepticism.”Selma: What was the most important rewards you expected in your career ?Bill: The most rewarding part of my career has been seeing people improve in their English, becoming friends with my students and learning from my students about their languages and countries.Selma: What motivates you to forth your greatest afford ?Bill: My love for my students and my feeling of responsibility toward them motivates me the most.Selma: What do you expect to be doing from now for teaching ?Bill: I am starting to do more one-on-one teaching in addition to the class teaching I have done.Now, here are some questions related teaching !Selma: Before people start to involve “teaching” “What should they do” ?Bill: You need to become a good student first. Once your learn your subject, such as English, you can get involved with teaching.Selma: How to become a teacher / a good teacher ?Bill: Read a lot of articles on the Internet on how to teach and study your subject very well so you can teach all parts of the subject to others.Selma: Career pathway and Success : Could you please tell us about ?Bill: My form of teaching is volunteer teaching so it is not so much a career for me.Selma: What’s your recommendation to those people who want to become a teacher ?Bill: Take college courses on teaching and get as much practice teaching as you can get.Selma: How much money can people earn from teaching ?Bill: I personally do not earn money from teaching.Questions for learners !Selma: As a teacher, what’s your advices for learners who make self-studies ?Bill: Self-study can be a challenge. It is better to get instruction from a teacher if possible. But you can do self-study by watching English TV, English movies and reading English books using a dictionary. Having conversations with an English-speaking friend is very valuable especially if they are willing to correct you as you speak.Selma: How can you tell that a person (speaks English as a second language ) is a good listener ?Bill: I can ask them questions about what I said and if they don’t respond correctly they probably have difficulty listening. Also when we have conversation with a student we can know if they understand us by how they respond to us.Selma: What is the best thing during learning English ?Bill: The best things is to continue learning even though it is hard sometimes. People who continue learn the best. People who stop learning, lose all the English they already learned.Conclusion;Selma: Teaching English in the internet has been very popular recently, do you want to say something with ?Bill: I think the internet is an excellent way to learn some English. There are many sites that teach grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing and vocabulary. But learning from a person is also needed.Selma: Have you ever considered publishing a book ?Bill: I have written two books but have never tried to get them published. They are not about English.
