    Thanks for the sweet comment!

    Great! Yes, there alreay have been more than 50 female astronauts who have been to space - most of them are Americans, though.  You just mentioned "Soviet Union" which used to be so familiar a country name. I was wondering if we can use Russia instead of Soviet Union when we refer to all of those space adventures? Thanks again!

  • Congratulations!

    Thanks for that great news. I haven't heard about it. It's interesting that I learn about some events in the world in MyEC. I like this way of information, because I learn the news from the people living in the countries where the events take place. It's more interesting and exciting than to learn smth from official sources. This news inspired me to learn more about women astronauts in the world. As it turned out all in all there're 56 female astronauts out of 525 total space travellers. They're from the following countries: one each from China, France, UK, South Korea; two each from Canada and Japan; three from the Soviet Union; 45 from the USA. Thanks for sharing this great news.

  • I wonder what the chinese people can't do ! Great nation !

  • Hi anele,

    Thanks for the comment! Good question! It's hard for me to answer it. In fact, I asked myself the same question - why is it necessary for us humans to send astronauts into space? One of the reasons might have something to do with the contest between world's big powers. And, human curiosity about ourter space, patriotic pride, or other interests, or whatever you may think of.

    Thanks again for asking!

  • My thanks to Fidan, Rajesh

    The three astronauts who have just returned to Earth have been sent to Beijing where they will have a complete physical examination  - they will be reunited with their family in 2 weekes. You bet they will be hailed as national heroes in China.

  • My big congratulations to them!

  • @Yasemin

    Thanks for being the first to comment on this blog post! Some of the countries in the world do have their own astronauts, but only three countries (the USA, Russia, China) can send astronauts into space with their own spacecrafts.

    @nida

    Thanks for the nice comments! Sorry I couldn't help commenting on my own blog. I'm glad you like it. Yes, space missions used to be dominated by men, but, up to now, more than 50 women astronauts around the world have already been to space (beyond Earth).

    @mitran

    Thanks for the comment! Yes, you can say that again - she is beautiful. I had no idea she has got a Vietnamese name. Her name is Liu Yang (Chinese phonetic).

  • I read newspaper and knew this News. Congratulations.

    Her name in Vietnamese is LUU DUONG.

    And she is really beautiful.

  • @ Nida and Expector, I agree with Nida! hahahah...

    Also, I am not sure if Turkey (we) even have male astronauts!

  • @ Expector Smith, It's the first time ever in MyEC, I've seen someone commenting on their own blog in this way. And you know what? I like it! :)
