Some words are like hammers ,
Blunt and heavy like lead.
They fall on your soul
Making all senses go dead.
Some words are like daggers -
Sharp and ruthless without restraint.
They leave the soul in ugly scars
To endure an unbearable pain.
Some words are like raindrops –
Tiny things that do not weigh.
But their healing softness
Washes your sorrows away.
Whence did this wound appear?
Harsh words nobody did tell.
The tragic mystery of life –
Untold words can hurt like hell.

Wow! I didn't know that expression in English "Healing Balm" Thank you! :)
Roman, I am glad you like my poem. Your words are like healing balm for my poetic ego! :))
Camel, thank you for appreciating my poem.
Hi Inna! I am impressed by your poem! It has many meanings! Both untold words can hurt, those words that we expect to hear and those words that we want to say but doubt, but later it is to late.
Unfortunately we learn it with years, with flow of time and on our own experience.
Thank you for sharing this poem!
Exactly, when you are open minded and use sharp words, you are labeled rude or indecent. But to me, these kind of people dont lie easily.(Btw, those who tell that they dont lie, they are the liars :)) So i like them(open minded persons). But agree with the words what you wrote above. I am impressed indeed, kinda words from witch of ec.... :))))
Yeah, one's history is written in wrinkles and scars...wrinkles on the face and scars on the soul.
Dear Inna...
If those delicate wrinkles on your forehead are the remnant of those untold words, then I must admit that those untold words worth a thousand told ones! To me those scars don't look like wounds at all, but riverbeds that life's blood eternally flows smoothly within...
Cheers!
That is right, Vision, people won't forget their feeling because they are the result of what others said or did.
Thank you for the comment, Onee-chan! I agree that we should grow a thick skin so that all those hurtful words would bounce off and do us no harm :))))
