Why is not prohibited hunting wolf?

As you already know (if you’ve read my prior blog entry) I’m a strong animal lover. So today I’m going to write about the wolf hunt.

What pushes a person to kill  this awesome predator?

1-      It shows how strong that person is. No, because that person would hunt the wolf with a rifle, so you don’t show any strength.

2-      That individual needs a new carpet, a wolf carpet.  This reason might be possible.

3-      The need of a prize in the wall.

It is meaningless to figure it out what reason pushes a person to kill such beauty animal.

I’ll say why we need wolves:

Wolves have a very important role in this world, they don’t just hunt for feed. When they hunt they are doing several things in the same time; They are controlling the overpopulation of herbivores, and by so they are preventing the mass destruction of the habitat. This includes birds nest, woody vegetation…

They also hunt the sickest prey, they do that because is easier for them to hunt a sick prey than a normal one, and with that they are preventing to that sickness to be spread through the herbivores.

Several studies explains how wolves are very positive to our planet. They are not just predators. Yellowstone Park has improved so much since wolves have come back.

So… Why are they so and so hunted in countries like Spain? The main reason is because farmers have lost some of their livestock because of wolves. Well, that seems to be a good reason to erase them from the planet!! WRONG! There are so many things to avoid the contact between your livestock and between the wolves.

Guardian dogs, the Mastiff breed is a very good livestock guard.

Keep your livestock together. Don’t let them spread out without any control!

Wolf is ESSENTIAL.

And… because they are very beautiful! Aren’t they?

  • Waw, very beautiful..

  • in my country, main reason to hunt wolves, is to reduce their population and prevent attacking animal farms by wolves.
But most of the time it is just an excuse, to hunt wolves is passion or excitement, as hunters say. My uncle is hunter and father's friends also, but father hunts birds only (ducks, goose, etc) for eating. (his lesser passion)
