Some of my friends say Mickey lacks common sense because sometimes I ask them stupid questions. But at the same time, they tell me the answers patiently, giggling. Unluckily, I wasn't born a genius, therefore I have a lot of things that I don't understand and I have to learn little by little.

I have asked quite a few people a question: Why is my skin yellow, my eyes are black and so is my hair? Why are some others white skinned with yellow or brown hair and blue eyes and more hairy? Why there are black skinned people also?

I've been told it is because of gene. But the answer gene is hard for me to digest, harder than my teeth!I prefer answers like this: Why is her skin black? Because she lives around the equator which is closer to the sun, and to protect her skin from sunburn her skin produces more melanin. Thus her skin looks darker with the melanin inside.

I was born with yellow skin, dark eyes, black and straight hair and thin lips. But I wonder why! Why the others are different from me? What cause the differences? Try to give me an easy and detailed answer, will you? Thank you in advance.

;-)

  • Mr. Bob, thanks for your kind advice! Hmmm, anyway I will try to figure out this question since it's so interesting and I'm always curious about it. I like the difference between people.

I am wondering if there is an easy answer, I mean explanation in an easy way that most can understand to this question. I want to know it, and share with my friends and people around me who is also curious about this question.

    ;-)

  • Hi Mickey.  Even someone born a genius may not know the answer to these questions unless she has studied or read about genetics.  I used to teach genetics when I was teaching Biology classes.  I understand the answers to your questions, but there are no really short answers that you would be satisfied with.  You need to read a genetics chapter in a university level biology book.  If the book is well written, you should get a better understanding of the traits we inherit and how these may change in populations over time.  Maybe some day you and I can discuss this.

  • Giggling, ok, I'll follow your words, sis sewar! I like my black straight hair, I like unique Mickey! hehehe ;-)

  • The only "stupid" question is the one you don't ask when you don't know the answer.

Thank you, Tim! What a good view I've ever heard!

I'm curious how those factors formed·······

  •          Sweety, do not keep asking yourself such questions, just satisfy yourself that; with such skin or hair or color or body.....................etc. you will be unique in the universe. Isn't that amazing my little princess?????? God bless you Sweety.

  • The only "stupid" question is the one you don't ask when you don't know the answer.

And as far as skin color, eye color, hair color ( and even if you have hair or not), it all has to do with your ancestors.  You inherited those factors.

  • Hahaha, Asif! Yes, that also drove me crazy. After I corrected that blog [Sis Anele pointed out some mistakes] and reposted it, all the blogs were gone! So I rewrote it and posted it again, and the date became 1999!!! Lol, in 1999 I have posted 100 blogs, what an old member Mickey is here! giggling~
Thank you! Enjoy your lovely weekend!
    ;-)

  • Oh, YA, good questions! I hope someone can answer our questions logically.
    Giggling~ ;-) Have a good weekend!

  • You're right! Mickey, As per your profile page, after adding today's blog, it shows 238 Blogs but when I count one by one, the number is 242.
Another interesting thing which I noticed, enough for drive me hazy. You had started your Blog writing from Feb-13 and your 100th Blog date is November-1999.
