In my childhood, I used to ponder so much over why a rose is symbolic sign of love. A lover when desires to express his love to his beloved, he does it by presenting a bunch of roses or at least a rose with a smile on his face. I tried my best to find the answer but failed, but when I, myself experienced a love at the youngest age, I was answered of all my queries swirling in my mind. One of similarities is its unique smell and love has itself a smell which can't be hidden just like the fragrance of a rose. Second, the rose grows with thorn. The more thorn grows, the bigger the rose germinates. The more people throw thorn or create hurdles on the way of love, the stronger the relation between lover and beloved will be.Iqbal says"The cruelty which takes place in the love is not the cruelty,If there is no tyranny, the love has no charm."If you have a better answer, please share your thoughts.
unspeakable word of love or silent expression of love. By presenting it to his/her beloved, (s)he feels relax and waits for its approval. When (s)he smile back, it is assumed its approval. Then, hurrah! hurrah! :D
Wow, what a strange question it is!!!!!! Really I didn't think about it. But I think because the lover don't have enough courage to say; I love you, for whom he or she fall in love with. So, instead, he or she present the rose to be their unspeakable word of love. God bless you my friend.
It seems to me too so, it has something to do with Ancient Greece Mythology. It is a mean of communication between lover and beloved that is interesting. But it may be very funny when a lover keeps sending bunches of roses to her beloved, while the beloved is ignorant of this commonly known symbol of love. All of her efforts will go in vain. Thank for this useful information.
I know that! she was kidding. we like living plants, but they have a certain life. I can't agree with you on the whole of your context. Most of flowers are planted in remote areas far away from our reach for the purpose of business. The process of plantation of flowers is carried on. You mean flowers, which once are cut, can not be replanted. This is cycle of business. When we stop buying them (flowers/roses), there are chances that the farmers who plant them for earning, might lose interest in seeding them.
To my question, I am myself curious to know why a rose is presented to her beloved to convey him a feeling of deep love. Why do we need to do so?
Very informative comment, which helped me get what noona meant. She married the one who gave her apples which are bit expensive as compared to roses. To me the doctor was a lucky man who was saved from such a greedy woman who compared the love with materialistic things. Interestingly, the young woman had two lovers and accepted the gifts of both simultaneously. What a gentle woman she was! :) anyway thank for nice comment. I really liked it.
Thank noona for your description on the topic. I think a rose is made to express love while flowers in garden are decorated for a couple to walk with there.
Dear sister, Adaline
I am familiar with its resemblance with love, but bit curious about its origin. Thank you so much for a bunch of roses I feel great.

It seems it has something to do with Ancient Greece Mythology - Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beautiful.
People tend to take it for granted, but we should try to ask if we're not sure about something.
