A question haunts me for a long while, just like a hard bone, not that easy for me to digest. <。)#)))≦
First of all, allow me to tell a story, and my questions will follow.
It happened during the Culture Revolution period (1966-1976). It was a crazy period, a sad time. An artist, who was often kind and helped people around him, fell into a plight. He asked two men he believed to help him, one was the man he used to help a lot. the other was an American priest who helped him once. With the help of the priest, he evacuated to the USA, waiting for his brother's coming. However, his brother never came. It was said his brother was arrested and threw into the jail. After a few years, his brother got out of the jail, wrote a letter to him. In the letter his brother told the artist it was not any other but the man who he had asked for help who had betrayed him as he later learned it from from another man who was also in the jail.
Ok, I think there is no need to continue that story. Here comes a question, why did the man who he asked help from, who He used to help him a lot, betray him? Another question, the author of the story reminded us readers to never ask help from the people we have helped but from those who have helped us, I wonder why...

Hmmm, brother TK, I agree with you!
Many reasons, but only the betrayer himself had the authentic answer. =)>
Your parents are right and wise!
dear sewar, the reason I said the question haunted me a long time, is because I question the author's belief. I tried to figure it out. Now I think I am clearer about it.
Thanks for your kind words!
Hi my friend, If we decide that we want to understand everything has happened around us, we would be waiting a long time to do anything. So, this is what you shall do: Make your personal philosophy is:”I will do my best to help people, regardless…”, in another words: help anyone needs your help, and don’t wait he or she to pay back. As a human beings how important to make helping people one of our good habits, trust me my friend, that philosophy leads to the endless happiness . So, I am not agree with the author when he said:”Never ask help from the people you have helped, but who helped you”.
Hmmm, Faraz, I used to think maybe the author was related to the protagonist, maybe he told the story in a sad mood, so its viewpoint was a bit extreme. But as I have mentioned, this story happened in a special period, that every extreme crazy thing could happen. That's why the questions haunt me long. I also guessed the author's belief may suit for that era.
I do agree with you, Anele! First of all, when we help, we should not expect something in return. Secondly, help is extended only by people who is capable of giving it. Maybe the story was just a section of the author's experience, or his belief is limited by a certain time or a special mood.
Sis Wywu, I can link to it, and it says the differences clearly.
Thanks, all!
Yes, Expector.
Sis?
Oh really?
