Lions pretend that they are hurt by their cubs' bites in order to encourage them:
Somewhere in the jungle, the mighty jungle: --> (if you don't get it, we can't be friends). ;)
Papa Lion: Aggghhh! Have mercy, you mighty beast!
Junior: Dad, stop it!
Papa Lion: I'm done! I'm dead! So dark, so cold.... Ahhh!
Junior: Dad, for the love of Pete. Jeez...
Papa Lion: Don't forget who you are, Son. FINISH ME!!!
Meanwhile, in the human world:
Junior: Daddy! Daddy! Let's play catch!
Papa Human: Not now, Sonny Boy, not now.
Junior: Dad, pleeeeeease!
Papa Human: I SAID NO!!! Now go out and play.
Junior: But...

Hi dearest Evangelina! I would answer that, better yet, check out my page. If you like, that is. You'll see. Hugs:]
Oh, you didn't know? Watch this:
RRRRRoaRRRR
who did tell you about that scenario? don't tell me you can speak lion language,. lol xD
Then, "Why so serious?". Sorry if I'm being lame, but this is my motto. :)
Hey, Evangelina! I'm not a zoologist, but I don't think lions eat their young. o_O
Not in this scenario, at least.
'Lions pretend that they are hurt by their cubs' bites in order to encourage them'.
I think you misunderstood my point. In the above conversation, "FINISH ME!" does not mean to eat and/or kill. It means to conquer, to defeat. In an imaginary fight between a lion and his cub, the lion just pretends to be hurt. It is merely an act to encourage his cub to become a fierce hunter in the future.
Nice!
