The youth, would you take me your wife when my hair is long enough to reach my waist?

This sentense comes from a modern Chinese poem which was wrote by He Xiaodao, a writer who was born in 1963. It is a beautiful love poem that tells a young engaged woman who missed her military husband-to-be and wrote him a poem. In the poem, the young wife asked her hubby if he could return and marry her when her hair would reach her waist.

It became a hot topic in weibo in earlier of this year among Chinese young generation after a young Chinese couple who study abroad together in University of Cambridge showed two photos of theirs online. The first one was taken when they were at home in high school, when the girl had short hair; the second photo was taken when they graduated from Cambridge when the girl grows into a ladylike long-haired young woman. They made the netizen think of this poem.

Today I posted this story to express my present feelings. I am like the girl with short hair and waits for the ones she likes. Sis pls, when my hair grows long enough to reach my waist, can you come back here?
