what to ask?

Well, this is my personal view, based on some experiences that we should know what we should say or ask to others! Yes, I am taking about some expressions. Recently I faced a problem asking someone ' where he /she was and why did not he/ she come. Then response was a bit bitter! I got stunned! Thinking why on earth I went to ask this question? But this was not the first time instead there were a few times when I asked something in a very simple way but answers were not that simple!
So, friends, I want to know what types of questions are not welcomed in your culture.
Here, in my culture, it is very common to ask someone where did you go or why he/ she is not coming these days. It is almost same as...' I was thinking whereas you were good or not/ are you okay/ I am missing you! Moreover, we take what once you have told or informed, we can talk over it.
Am I sounding weird? If, let me know and if not tell me (us)what types of questions you don't like to hear from others.
I chose this topic because I thought this is how we can make this place more comfortable to everyone!

  • I think it depends more on the person. Inappropriate questions use to be the same everywhere according to my experience.

  • Thanks, Dara and Risty!

  • Bet, there's nothing wrong to ask, but there are ways to do it, most of the time it's the appropriate choice of words. As for me, as long as the question is not a perversion inspired question, I think I can answer almost anything.

Thanks for sharing, maybe what happened to you was just a misunderstanding. *Smile*

  • Shogatum Bet! The type of question depends on you, Bet. You are the one who is asking. I mean the way you address the other. Your style, your approach they can make a big difference for the other to accept it. You might say, how are you to someone, and he might not be pleased with it. You are a very sensitive lady, my dear good friend.
