What's In Your Lunch Box?

Although I don't possess artistic excellence, still, making bento (Japanese boxed meals) is my most favorite thing to do.  Most bentos take quite a bit of work and creativity but I still feel that it's all worth the sweat and (^_*) Googling.   For I believe that food shouldn't only taste good, but should look as good as it tastes!

I find making bento box for my 4 year old son, Sam, a lot of fun.   Even his classmates and teachers are always excited to see what's inside his lunch box.  But more than anything, it enriches his appetite regardless of what I put into his bento.   No greater fulfillment for a mother like me than to see her son comes home everyday from school with a full smile on his face...and an empty lunch box. (^,*)

Well...what about you?  I'm curious to know what's in your lunch box?  It'd be much nicer if you'd share us a photo or two.

  • Oh Beet, I didn't know you were here.  I was just browsing and noticed your comment.  Wow, thanks for reading.

I have fully accepted that I can't be good at everything but at least I wanna be a good mother.  Maybe I spoil my kids sometimes but time passes by so fast...soon my kids will be grown ups and will not probably want my lunch boxes...lol...so I have to enjoy their childhood while I can.

Seems like your mother was a sweetheart.  You even had chocolate??? That lunchbox is heavenly! So mind if I ask if your mother is still around?  I've never had a lunch box prepared by my mother since she was a single parent and was working out of town or abroad most of d time.  I missed that opportunity but I was well provided, thanks to all of her hard work.  She was amazing in her own way.  ",)

  • Ohnie, I do believe that you are agreat mother cause you care about your
children. You reminded me my typical lunch box which my mother preoared for me
many years ago. Therefore, my typical lunch box had sandwish with butter, chocolate bar, an -apple and milk.
  • It's look delicious and attractive Japanese food! as well as packed in pickachoo lunch box. My cousin loves to watch Pokemon so much. He is crazy for this.

    Thanks for Sharing Ohnie... :)

  • @Ohnie, LOL! Yes, I did. :D

    You're welcome. Thanks!

    @Junko,

You're welcome. I wish my future kids love it since I can't do it like you and Ohnie. Does it need lots of practice? -_-

Thanks for the video, I download it. :)

  • LOL, Pearl.  Seems like you got also hit by the "Korean wave".  I did! Heheh.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  Hope to see your future lunch box creations someday.

  • Marvelous! You remind me with the Korean dramas.

We are not used to have lunch box since kids are back to home early. We just give kids sandwich and milk or juice. We may put in such boxes some chocolates, fruits, or cake.. whatever we have at home. :)

I enjoyed watching your lunch box and Junko's one too. I wanna learn how to do it. I may do it for my future kids. :D

Thanks for such NICE blog. :)

  • Thank you guys for coming to my blog.  I'm back to traveling and working everyday so my life is busy again.  It lightens my tired body to read your warm comments.  I regularly update the slideshow above for new bento boxes.  Hope to also see some photos of your food from y'all.

  • I'M HUNGRY ,COULD YOU BRING ALL YOUR FOODS TO ME :)

  • Wow, so creative, and u say you don't have artistic talent ?? i love them and those of Junko too, well here in my country we don't use such boxes as children come back home for lunch, or have canteen at school. but we use to make some funny cakes for them at home or for them birthdays.

thank you for sharing those pictures, very nice indeed.

  • Wow! They are so colorful and beautifully designed and cooked.

So creative moms; Ohnie and Junko.
