Hi,
Yesterday, I read & watched Steve Jobs's speeches with a huge admiration.
(one more time watched it since my last review last year )
He was asking " What is truly important ? "
it made an impression on me and of course his story touched me like other people.
This speech, was looking for some answers, had been made one year ago after a cancer diagnosis.
Actually, this very emotional speech gave me a good lesson. Everytime I believe that there should be a balance between heart and mind so this lesson helped me to understand its necessity (balancing). But, there will be some moments you will choose to follow "your heart" because the most important thing you have is your soul.
Steve Jobs asked himself "What is truly important" every morning for the past 33 years,
and said that the best way, to avoid the trap of thinking you have somehing to lose, ...to remember you are going to die...
Let's think about it,
1Q - If today were the last day of my life ?! What would you wanna do ?
1A - I would like to be with my family.
2Q- What would you want to do with your life
2A- Travelling ! Seeing different culture & people finally, I would do one more thing is that; Organ Donation.
So far it seems like very ordinary article, but if it was said by a man who was Steve Jobs with his big believed dreams, achieved a phenomenal succeses, much deeper topic waits you !
Conclusion ; on the one hand "a succes story" on the other hand "searching for truth " according to me what Paradox between the real and the ideal. It is open to interpretation.
I want to finish my writing with a quote of Mahatma Gandhi
LIVE..... as if you were to die tomorrow,
LEARN..... as if you were to live forever,
Happy Learning,

Yes Selma, because I think the only way to be satisfied is when there is a balance between the mind and the heart.
Hi Lynne,
Thank you for your excellent comment :) Really challenging. You brought a different approach but I totally agree with all of them. We can learn a lot from these brilliant people what they do or don't.
Also, this paragraph saying " only way to be satisfied = only way to do great work = love what you do" has been already a key point for me,
Thank you for your great contribution,
Selma
Sharing this quotation with you. I like it, I guess you will like it too.
Wish you a nice day!

Hello Selma,
Excellent blog, Selma! though sad to recall how the world mourned for the loss of this great man.
Lives of great people always leave us not only their good works but a piece of their minds that would catch the heart of the people with a searching soul. At one point, we can see that wherever we are, we all are in constant search for reality.
Relating this whole thing to our own lives, here's my question; is it really the search for truth or something we have failed to do?
Understanding the life of the late Mr. Steve Jobs, I can say from what's been shared (in the media) that he was able to meet his ideals to its best though not perfect but, his search for truth was just left for all of us to think about... Understanding his life and relating it to the question he had been asking himself for a long time (for some 33 years) would express the feeling that he is in constant search for reality...
To conclude, I can only say that if we will only give ourselves time to contemplate on what the great people had left for us it might and could be able to lead us to the answer we are all searching for.
Mr. Steve Jobs should not be forgotten and should be praised and honoured for his contribution/invention here on earth. Thanks Selma for sharing this.
Good day!
