What is beauty and our understanding?

Really what is beauty and what is/are its standard? Sounds like an endless subject to describe/argue! Moreover, when Television like strong influential object and its commercial adds, daily shops trying to make our mind about beauty and its concept, so, now it is tougher than before.

I have found, in Asian region and where people have dark skin, beauty product manufacturing companies influence people by many ways to promote their fairness products. In Asia, beauty means mostly having fair/more fair skin. Of course these companies mostly manufactured women's beauty products as women are more conscious about their look  than the men. So, women are their main preys.

Then, what is said? Here, beauty related adds usually say, how a women can get fair skin, how fair skin pays role in their life, sometimes some adds describe how sorrowful a woman's life can be if she does not have fair skin and as a whole without a beautiful look, so finally it is shown that what product to use to have a flawless fair skin. And, we, people start believing, beauty means fair skin, a very attractive look or good quality hair/hairstyle like the women whom we see on the adds!

And in addition,  Tv programs, i,e, Daily shops, Serials are playing another role! The way they describe people's life it seems  to me we must look attractive whole day long, we must taking care of our skin/hair, about our total beauty without going to schools/colleges/universities, without taking care of our kids and families. Sounds to me we must put on make up when we need to go to the hospitals or when we are attending a funeral...., ridiculous!

Problem is, these adds and daily shops/serials have an impact in our regular life. Now, I can see, girls/women are more conscious about their beauty and make up, no  I am, of course, not against taking good care but should make up and as a whole outer beauty get that much priority?!

When the fact is, the women we can see on the adds and TV serials or movies they use much more make up, true is in real life many of them look like as usual or normal like a woman who we are or live near us! And, another fact is, they appear in front of us mostly for their acting capability though commercial films/TV series/adds make them also bound to look unnecessarily attractive to us! What a pity!

So, we, women should decide what to do? Recently I am attending a course, there I have found two young ladies  tend to get more make up, less attentive in the classes, sometimes taking selfies....but, all men and young men are more focused on their lessons, no one wears make up (lol), no one takes selfies, no one sees his appearance on the mirror of the smart phone!

But, why it is happening?! Look, TV programs, adds, movies have influence in our life and we can not ignore it! Now, men want to get more beautiful brides/girlfriends, men's parents also want more good looking brides for their boys so what to do?

Even, what a truth! I myself have become more careful than before about my look and dress up. Because, If I do not wear some make up, I must look less attractive as most of the people, women do not show us their real look, real skin ( it maybe rough, may have scars, scratched but appears to us in a dffeirent way....lol).

But, whatever we do or think, first of all, we must be careful to enhance our quality, education, inner beauty, we must make our profession secure, we must take care of our kid's education, nutrition, health and safety, and it is our duty to make people specially our men and our surroundings to believe inner beauty is the main key point!

Here, I have a real story to share....about three years ago...I have been in Dubai airport, there we saw a famous singer, we used to see her on TV and once I saw her in a live program too. But, in reality she looked so ordinary....and, funny thing was, I found she was looking at me and I was thinking, '' Oh...after such a long trip am I still looking nice?! rolf

But, please, do not get me wrong, I am not against looking nice and taking good care of the skin but we should have a balance and we should fix our priorities!

  • Lol....thanks a lot, dear Onee! Yes, we should try to use natural things. About using make up more often means we can not see a person's original condition. So, when we see them without make up....we start thinking oh......so...it is his/her real condition....oh.....so, I try to show my natural tone and real picture more often....not to make people perplex or feel dizzy....lol

Thanks a lot for the corrections, dear!

  • But, in reality she looked so ordinary....and, funny thing was, I found she was looking at me and I was thinking, '' Oh...after such a long trip am I still looking nice?!

She was amazed by your beautiful skin and wondering how it could be. ^^

  • Hi Bet!

I gave up make up long ago. I realized something. I saw how people grew around me. They who used complete make up, the face changed worse than the one who didn't use make up. The one who didn't use make up looked more ageless. This is why I gave up.

I was boyish before without much make up, now only use light powder without many additional colors. ^^

One thing that I do now is, again, "back to nature". I do as possible as I can to treat face/skin with natural treatment, with fruit and vegetable.

    Beauty is becoming ourselves. :)

  • @ Misha! Thanks a lot! Yes, only having fair skin, sharp nose, tall figure....does not mean a woman/man looks good. And, it is a pity as here people still do think in this way. Personally I know in my country if a lady has less fair skin  or dark skin, no way she must get lots of bad and negative comments all through her life! Very recently I got information and I myself watched many people who have fair skin but all of them were not attractive or beautiful. So, I am telling this fact to my friends and colleagues...what we heard from our elders is not true, to be fair never means he/she is beautiful or attractive! Even, in the West people also think that beauty means there is a balance in every aspect. If a person has fair skin, sharp nose, a tall body but he/she does not look good then they do not say beautiful or attractive!

@ Dear Olga, no worries, please! Sometimes it happens!

  • There is not necessarily beauty in having fair skin, on the contrary beauty is there having a healthy skin whatever the color of your skin is.  About the white color, the elder ladies in my society used to say that it is like meal without salt. (the actual phrase is PHEEKA SHALJAM).

If your skin is not healthy you will not good.  All the products being sold in the market for gaining fair skin are harmful.  Just eat fruits and good meal regularly your skin will become beautiful and charming.  If you want to experience, just eat red pomegranate only for 40 days regularly along with your usual meal.  You will find your skin glowing whatever their color would be.

    @bet a very nice blog.

  • @ GarrafaVerde, tough to pronounce your name! Yes, Asian men and women both prefer or log to have fair skin and businessmen take this as their way of making more money....lol, and, yes, where people have fair skin they spend money to be tanned, there is another way to make more money....but most probably I wanted to say some how commercial adds pay a big role to make our mind about beauty concept...otherwise we may be more focused on our natural beauty and its enhancement. But, now we can not think what we want to think, there are many sources and information, we can see others and how they do wear make up to look more attractive so....lol

@ Estanis, thank you so much for your valuable comment! Yes, I know Fair skin holders like to have tan....and they spend money, I think you also spend money from time to time for this purpose....lol. Actually,  trying to looking good/having good health/skin is a good deed, when excessive is not good! Look, many people specially who do not get chance to see a actors/actresses/models/performers they like to think, they (whom they see on media) are so beautiful and I personally have found/met such type of people. Even if I can not see them in reality I also may think in this way. This type of thinking brings  social problem....specially for the females as females are still in the backward position than the males (yes, there are exception, I know) so in the most cases females are chosen/selected by the males and their families. In our part, as people like fair skin so I heard and I know when it comes to choose a bride, men and their families like to have a bride like a model/actress who have flawless fair skin. So, I have a point here, in our part where people have brown to dark colour mostly....media keeps giving message/telecasting adds/serials where we can see always people specially women have fair skin....that means only a woman with fair skin is beautiful which is very much wrong!!!!. And, as you  and others putting your different types of comment here, it is this blog's benefit! At least, here some/a few people may start thinking another way...true is, any skin colour any type  of hair can be beautiful....if it is healthy and get proper caring!

@ Roman, thanks, dear, honestly after publishing I was wondering whether anybody will read or not!

@ Olga! I totally do agree with you. In addition, sometime we can see very good looking man/woman around us but when we  talk or do any work with them we sometimes may find them too arrogant, haughty, bad mannered....then are they remain that much beautiful in our eyes? Yes, outer beauty is also important but for a last long existence in terms of friendship/ as a neighbour/personal relationship/ to choose as a life partner....inner beauty is more important but if anybody has both.....it is just a wo wo thing!

  • Bet, Just a little bit :)

  • So Asian women spend money on fairness skin products and the European ones spend it on getting a darker tanned skin... Crazy world! Haha...

Kidding aside I think women should spend their money on their own way and it is perfectly compatible with your main point in this blog, no need to choose. Anyone can look beauty not only for others but also and mostly for herself.    As for famous female people, anyone thinks they look all the time like when they're showing up on T.V? Well don't really know but not at least the ones I've seen in the street.

Anyway (at least here) if you visit any shopping centre you'll realise that there're more and bigger beauty and clothing shops for women than for men.

    Good job! :)

  • Thanks, Roman for reading, it's a bit long blog, right?

  • Hi, Bet!

It all depends on a situation.

Sometimes make up is good, sometimes it is not.

Of course as any product, it can be too much.

And there is A LOT of unnecessary information everywhere.
