Although some members think that chatting is just for fun. I totally disagree with them because I learnt alot of things from chatting in main room. For example, I watched many great discussions about different aspects of life. The perfect answer for this question which I liked it was for unclescrooge's wife. She said that we can learn how to communicate with different characters so we know how to put ourselves into aproper place. moreover, we interact with people of different cultures with different thoughts. From my view, we also can improve our English by learning new words when we discuss topics. However, nothing is perfect and the life has two sides one is sunny and the other is rainy. Sometimes I do not like to keep chatting when it comes to race, religion or prejudice. Also we may meet good people there then they leave. Many thanks for Ohnie who stimulated me to post this blog before she has left.
I guess you will agree when I say it depends on personal character. Some people can't grab the lesson quickly in conversation. They found it's easier to read blogs (offline). Some people do the other way. I like reading blog...just because it's more relaxed.
Thank you for sharing, Beethoven. I'm sure that learning here on MyEC is quite beneficial, whatever our way. Have a nice day. :)
Dear Beethoven! You have started an interesting and useful discussion. I completely agree with those who think that chatting helps people not only improve their English but also learn more about other cultures. But, unfortunately, the main room is sometimes very aggressive. Some people have no idea how to behave in the international community. Even ladies may be too rough, not to say more. So, after a few failed attemps, I quited entering the chatroom as they always want to get rid of me, in the best case. As a matter of fact, I joined the EC to help learners. But I feel, it is better for me just to take part in different discussions
