  • Hi Chocco,

To build of thinking in English need to practise consistently. I had ever read this theory for long time ago, but first I felt confused to understand the meaning of it, but later on I realise it needs time and can't be achieved in short time. It can be built from habit how we can create a 'think in English'. Persistent is the key to succeed in English learning. Ones have their own ways to learn.

Thanks for sharing your thought with us.

  • Chocco...

sorry to disappoint you but I have been thinking in English for many years and don't struggle with speaking at all...(that's why I also started here some years ago a group Kill your fear of talking to help others)... I left my comment on the basis of my own experiences - to sum it up -> it just came all of a sudden one day... that's it :D
  • luci dont just hear.only hearing is not enough.you just start from now and think each and every talk in english in your mind.Do this practice for one week. And then comment on the same blog here.i will close my id and will not come here on this website if your english didnt improved.this tip is something really amazing.it changed my speaking english alot.now whenever i speak the same words are coming out of my mouth effortlessly and automatically.

  • Easier said than done :) I've heard this tip million times, but... still my brain is not adopting English as its own language :p Believe me, rejection is so tactile, I won't give up tho'.

  • hi SNR,

im pakistani. But what you are saying is absolutely right.I watched that video of sandeef and then i put that tip here in order to help my brothers and sisters here.Because this tip really works.

  • I think its so much useful tips. Thanks for sharing your nice though.

  • I disagree because beginners aren't at the level of creating individual sentences in their head - exactly like Inha said. Those who get to intermediate level already can think in English... I am concerned that to start thinking in English is more a question of practising it and studying hard because then one day people realize..woow I am aleeady thinking in English, what happened to my brain....
  • Although lots of people say to think and speak in English without translation, it's not easy to make sentences for the beginner like me. Likewise,  I feel difficulty in listening to English by intervention of transition. I have no clue to block this function of my brain. Some people say to keep listening on even if I can't get the meaning. But it looks like waste of time, no improvement. I hope the day that I can think in English comes to me.

  • Some people call it 'Think in English'! It can be so helpful, but it depends on how well you appreciate it.

How to Think in English “Senses”
Stop thinking about tenses for a moment. Let’s worry about the “senses” and how they can help you think in English.
  • Chocco,

firstly this tip is useful only for those whose level is I guess intermediate and higher as begginers aren't able to create sentences so easily. Secondly - those who get to intermediate level usually think in English as it is natural process and is based especially on how hard we study ...thinking in English simply comes naturally in my opinion and this what you have described here might be helpful for those, who want to keep their English level...btw I talk to myself in English and it is also helpful!!!
