UPSTREAM or DOWNSTREAM

Yesterday, one of my friends said to me a saying “Lazy fish always goes in the downstream”. He means that lazy people don’t want to struggle for life so they always go easy ways. When I hear that, I think “Yes” he’s right. Later, I realize I couldn’t accept this.

“Lazy” doesn’t stand on struggling.

Stupid people have to struggle for lief while smart people are enjoying their easy time.
It doesn’t matter fish goes in the upstream or downstream. Where is the destination? The fish should go in the downstream or up stream? Where is the fish?
Perhaps, the fish pass over the destination swimming in the upstream. So, it has to go in the downstream. It has to go in the upstream because the destination is in the upstream. Perhaps, the fish is already at the destination point. So it has to try to keep staying at that point against the stream.
I think that situation is more important than upstream or downstream.

What do you think of this? Is there any option? If you were that fish where are you going?

  • Hì, I think you're right, but the saying is not wrong, when you want to analyse a saying please don't try to analyse each word like that, just think about the meaning.
