李白
床前明月光，
疑是地上霜。
举头望明月，
低头思故乡。

《Musing at night》

Moonlight spilled beside the bed

Wondering whether frost was on the ground

Gazing up the moon

Then head bowed,immersed in missing homeland

About the author:
Li Bai(701—762 A.D.),a great romanticism poem in Tang Dynasty,China.He is respectfully called 'fairy poet' by the later generations.His works mainly portrayed landscapes and expressed his inner emotion.

This work expressed a kind of emotion that in a moonlit night the author missed his homeland deeply in heart.

I am not sure for the English name. Maybe five-character quatrain I think.Yes,this genre appeared from Tang Dynasty , gave out extraordinary splendour in the poetic circles.

wow, it feels like haiku. So Haiku must have derived from this Tang five-syllabe four-line genre. What's an English name for this penta...(what)tetra....(what).
