I once met a couple of cat like this. That was a sad memory of mine also an unforgertable one.

That day when i came home, mom told me there were two cats broke into our house today but they looked extremly terrible so she evicted them. Now they were in our backyard. I do love cat very much so no matter how ugly they are, i still wanted to see them. You know i was touched for the first time i saw them, how poor these little kitties were! They were fully muddy, looked unhealthy as not being fed for many days:-(, They were sitting on an old car wheel. The two little kept miaowing when they recognized me, i gave them a carton box having a piece of cloth for keeping warm and a little bread then i stayed with them until my lunch. That time i did really want to keep them but not allowed to do. In the afternoon, i no longer saw them. That night, when i was brushing my teeth before going to bed, suddenly i felt something was twinning my leg, i looked down and...can you guess what i saw? i screamed but tried to calm down as fast as possible then i realized it was the two cats, they were  still here :-) :-) Mom came to me and saw them too. Poor them! they had an empty stomach, they must have eaten nothing until now. Then mom gave them  a cupful of rice with a small bowl of milk. Just looking at the way they eat, you can't get no feeling of angry with those who had left these kids behind. Now the two little were full and it's my bedtime too, i came to my bed but looking at the hall, they were roamming the house. May be this was the first time they could have a peaceful night without cold, rain  at midnight and fog in the early morning...One thing made me love them more and more was they were always go together to anywhere. Everyone in my family was touched when seeing that.

Those little kitties might be brothers. In the next day, mom and i decided to take the two kids to grandfa's house, they will find a better home there and end long months and years with in an adrift life.
