Toast and Tea

“There will be time, there will be time

To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;

There will be time to murder and create,

And time for all the works and days of hands

That lift and drop a question on your plate;

Time for you and time for me,

And time yet for a hundred indecisions,

And for a hundred visions and revisions,

Before the taking of a toast and tea.”

The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Eliot

Life is an experiment and we all learn from it first hand. When you teach someone about something they don’t just go and take your word for it but they try it themselves.   This is where they come to know. We learn mostly not from being taught but from our experience of it.   I’ve had my fill of the “hundred indecisions, visions and revisions” with both good and bad results but I will not exchange my trial and error existence for anything else more ideal because these imperfections are actually what has made my life truly my own.

  • Dear Alice, I agree with Mr.Bob. I really enjoyed reading your blog. Very beautiful words you've shared, both the song and your writing. Nice message!

    I like this words "And time yet for a hundred indecisions, and for a hundred visions and revisions, before the taking of a toast and tea".

    Thanks a lot for sharing. :)

  • And such isthe reality of life. Parents try to warn you, you try to warn your kids and they try to warn their kids and on and on,  about all of the mistakes that are easy to make. No generation listens very well and we all have to make our own mistakes as well as our triumphs.  I really enjyed reading your blog. Thanks.
