This Is My Hobby and What Are Your Hobbies?

One of my hobbies is making cookies. I didn’t know exactly when I was falling in love with this activity, but I supposed around 3 (three) years ago and I have been starting enjoying it. This is something that releasing ways of my stress and probably in the future I could be having business in this line. So, since then I have been collecting the recipes from internet and have exercised it by myself at home. Unfortunately I live faraway from my hometown, so I only cooked the recipes when I went home, and usually I make cookies in Ied Day, to treating the guests and relatives that coming to my home. It means only once in a year. If I had enough time when I was home, usually I made a simple cookies or snacks.

My favourite one is ‘Kue Semprit Keju’, in English become “Cheese Sago cookie”. Sago is main raw material and it is a kind of flour and derived from sago tree. Processing of cooking around a half day or until full day dependent of how many cookies do you want to make. Although it exhausted me but the result of these beyond my expectation, not only me like this favour of cookie but my family and relatives also. So, after they tasted my cookies and there were so many praises, making me more eager to search the new recipes that I heve never knew before. Anyway, how to cook and what are the ingredients? • The simple recipe of cookies, many thanks for that.

Yes we don't need to stir the materials and blend those using mixer. Yes I will keep this recipe and try to practice when I am at home.

I should write " This Is My Hobby and What Are Your Hobbies" , because Hobbies is plural not single. Am I correct? :)

Thanks for the correction my dear Teacher.

  • Instead of sharing our double chocolate chip cookie recipe, I'll share a recipe that my best friend shared with me this year. It's called "Christmas Crack". :)

    You will need:

    • 30 saltine crackers
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup butter
    • 1 bag of chocolate chips
    • tinfoil
    • cooking spray or oil
    • large glass baking pan

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 250°.
    2. Line a glass pan with tinfoil and spray it generously with cooking spray. (Or, as my friend said, "Spray the heck out of it.")
    3. Line the tray with crackers.
    4. Melt the sugar and butter in a pot. Bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for a few minutes.
    5. Pour caramel over the crackers.
    6. Place in the oven for 3-5 minutes.
    7. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
    8. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the crackers.
    9. Wait a few minutes. Spread melted chocolate with a knife.
    10. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
    11. Break pieces off and eat the toffee!

Thanks Lady Anne for comment and sharing :-)

Does it look like the same in your place?

By the way, that's a very profitable hobby of yours.  Who knows, it may turn into a habit that will lead you to the business world.  Viola!  You might one day have your own bakery.  Breads and pastries are always in demand.

Wish your goodies that you bake would one day find their way to my mouth, haha!

  • Hi Tara,

The taste is good for me because I made it by myself :D.  Is your daughter has the same hobby like me?Wow of course I really apreciate it, if you would like to share the recipe to me :)

Sago and maizena might be can be found in groceries, in my country these easily to seek in every places like traditional market or small shops around my place. Maizena derived from cassava whilst sago from sago tree, the texture of both flavor is similar but the distinction is the colour, maizena flour looks more white than sago.

Thanks Tara for coming to my blog and giving comment.
