One day, a plumber was trying to buy some plums. The plumber was not good at bargaining, much less a veteran bargainer. He couldn't believe his ears when he knew the price of the plums. "How could the plums be so expensive?" he shaked his head. He fished some bills out of his vest, though he thought it was an irrational price. He thought to himself on his way home, "I do have a nice vest on, but that doesn't mean I'm a vet (a veterinarian or a veteran). If I had the veto power, I would veto any proposals for increasing the price of the fruit - the price should plummet rather than rise. "

It could be so fun to write a short paragraph this way. You could try to write one. Thanks a lot.

Yes, some people may confuse 'veterinarian' with 'veteran' - they both can be shortened to 'vet'.
@Evangelina
Thanks for the nice comment. In fact, your blog inspired me to write this one.
By the way, I'm impressed by your wide vocabulary. Could you share your secret of remembering all the words that are rarely used and hard to memorize?
@Keen
Thanks for the comment. 'Fish something out' means 'to take something out of somewhere'.
@Alice
If only I were vested with the veto power:) Thanks.
@dara
Yes, a vest may mean something.
Ni hao Expector Smith, ka xie xie! Wearing a vest, indicates that the person is rich in certain circumstances.
I bet a veteran bargainer like you would bet his vest should the price of plums plummet! haha great job Expector, I enjoyed it a lot! :)
