After I have caused you a brain-ache thinking about the previous problem, I would like today to tell you a little story from life about how we can use our brain-ache facing similar and real life issues in order to be more able to overcome and solve them..

We have been always told that the person who is undergoing a problem can't evaluate the situation as thoroughly as an exterior observer can. For example, try to sit near to two persons playing chess and watch their steps. In many cases, you will find out that you will be more able to see their mistake as well as to decide next correct steps than they are.

The Fact is when we undergo a problem, our brains create additional limitations of the possible solutions which are false in many cases. What we need to do in such cases is to look at things in an exterior point of view and to not allow problem to affect us inspiring false limitations.

Our story today is about a Hotel whose elevators' area was very limited that there were always a matter of dissatisfaction and complaining among its visitors. Visitors of the hotel always did not stop nagging about the insufficient number of elevators that the hotel had.

After Studying the case, The owners found themselves limited in few number of solutions. The area did not allowed any extended space for new elevator erection that they should have destroyed the stairs to rebuild a new design which was very complicated and costly operation...

Now, before we go on to how they solved the problem, I need to come back to the moral of the previous problem again... So, Think out of the box. The problem usually inspires false limitation that our brains are trapped in.

How in your opinion, we could solve a problem like that of the hotel. I wish everyone of you stops for seconds and tries to find out the best solution of this problem before we continue..

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Well, this is not correct what you are thinking about. It's not how you can solve it.. Let's think again but out of the box this time.. What is our problem in this case??? Do we really need to build an elevator, or we need to satisfy the customers!!!

Yes, a little peace of a mirror (like 1 meter long and half meter wide) would be more sufficient to make the customers completely forget about this time that they were spending in front of the elevator waiting!!! And guess what!!! Complains completely (and 100%) stopped after they installed the new mirror..

See Now!!

So, if there is a moral that could be said at the end, it is "think out of the box" and "Don't let the problem inspire you of false limitations"

......................................................

Thanks for reading and see you in the next story :)

  • Noor,
OMG, I am just imagining ur solution now and seeing the crowds on the elevators thrilling for a photo :D
Oh Gosh.. you girls.. I wonder why this world is not ruled by girls instead of boys :D it would sound really crazy and free-violence :P (kidding, I dont think I will quit my presidential chair for the sake of you girls -_-)
  • Mary, it is a new information for me about ur work.. I agree with every word you said.. I remember I read once that normally the new information that we study or learn do not get stable in our brains until we sleep and wake up the next day... I guess it is the same for any kinda brain work activity..
well, I see you as a person who knows what she wants.. and what you said was not surprising to me..
Btw, depending on your solution I started thinkinh that you work in politics feild :P
  • Ok,
Lemme suggest some creative solution of above problem..^.^
Provide them a "photographer" with high resolution camera..like DSLR or other new latest Camera .. So the People will be able to have awesome pictures in stylish poses with their friend, family or individual rather waiting for elevator... :p

BTW Last suggestion was mine but after comment, I read below comments and I get know that my given suggestion was already given by someone else..

I like to be developer but I like more to be Creative..:)
  • This is a very cool thing AG.

For work reasons (I work in a creative field), I always need to do lot of 'brain exercises' to think out of the box. The thing that helps me when I can't see how to solve a problem is just... forget about it! I go to sleep or I do whatever other task, or I go out for a walk and suddenly, I can see things with a different perspective and wake up the next morning with a solution that seems to come out of nowhere :)

Btw, for that problem of the elevetor, what I'd have done is to offer a kind of 'reward', like a free breakfast, to all these customers who use the stairs instead. And I'd cover up the reasons of such a 'weird' offer as a proposal for people to promote to do more exercise and stay healthy! ;)

The mirror managed to solve the problem at percentage 100%. But as to you, I don't think that anything will manage to shut your mouth in this case :D :P

The innovation about this is to quit the traditional solutions and think about something unusual... The first person who takes this movement is the giant mind. but now after we all have known the plan we can take similar but more advantageous solutions.. I think this is exactly the difference between the creativity and development.. in the first one, you take the step in the very different and unusual direction... in the second, you develop a movement which was already created or taken by others.. That's why I will call you a "developer" in this case ^.^

The Moral: How You Can Be More Able to Solve Reality's Problems
After I have caused you a brain-ache thinking about the previous problem, I would like today to tell you a little story from life about how we can us…

    Dear Shoba

I agree with you. It's not always that easy. that's why we need sometime to Consult exterior people and take criticism in a serious way.. Thank you for reading, Shoba :)

    Dear ELF-Noor

What to say :D Just ^_^ back :P

  • Hi AG,

Thanks for sharing this story here and motivating me to use my brain properly. Haha.

I like your writing and agree that a problem which seems like has no answer could be solved if we look at it from a different perspective or approach it in a new way. However, thinking out of the box is not that easy either. Sometimes, we succeed. Sometimes, our brains fail us.
