The last tree has lost its last leaf,
and the last dried up rose lowers its head.
The fountains don't have water,
and the and ponds and rivers are empty.
Only fallow fields as far as the eyes can see,
there is no grain, no fruit.
Only abandoned farms and orphaned towns and villages.
Where did the animals and humans go?
There is no child laughter,
and the songs of birds have fallen silent.
The trees stretch their bare branches to the sky,
it looks as if they are begging for water,
but the storm blows the clouds away,
and the sun's glowing heat is absorbing the last drops
before they reach the dusty soil.
It was that big fire what has ruined everything,
the fire of the final fight of humans.
No one has won,
All have lost.
Just a few survivors found each other.
If you ask for origin, skin color, religion,
it doesn't matter anymore.
All are equal and united in happiness to be alive.
Somewhere, in the middle of this destroyed earth,
a small spring from the deep begins to fill a small pond,
and on its banks sprout the first greens,
and a few survived animals have already found this place.
Will the surviving humans find the last oasis
and take their given new chance?
Or will history repeat itself in an eternal circle?

Hi, Courtesy, not many members are interested in this my blog. So I thank you very much for reading and commenting.
It's like you have described. The world has already changed for a long time. The indifference has become modern, and the anonymity has displaced our personality.
It's quite easy to close the eyes to problems.
Insults and discrimination became commonplace.
As for me, I try to convey when prejudice, lack of understanding or also hatred take the place of empathy and humanity.
Even if people my opinion often ignore, I must try to convince people to be fair.
Hiding my attitude and opinion would mean to me I would feel shame to see my face in the mirror.
Hi Rose,
Nowadays, what I can observe and feel only is the indifference of people as if they would get rid of the burden of miseries of others taking their seats in the soul when they ignore what is going on around them. Sonorous joys to mute the cries won't change the ending.
I have become a naysayer but the way you convey your feelings has just become the mirror of mine.
Thanks for your deep sense of awareness.
You are totally right, dear Paula.
Our earth is a beautiful planet, and we all have just one single life. Every one of us has just a limited time.
No one KNOWS what comes after.
But instead living in peace, to share and to enjoy what we have, humans prefer lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and false pride...as you wrote.
Thanks a lot for your comment.
Unfortunately, Roman, you might be right. What a pity!
Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog.
I always appreciate your opinion.
Hi Rose!
I don't want to admit it, but it seems, that people will never live in peace on the Earth, except of the situation like in your story :(
