Ninos.
Hello again all members of EC, especially to all the beautiful ladies.
I'm sorry for not writing for so long. I hope by the end of this blog, you will understand and forgive me. In my not so short life, I've learnt the meaning of 'life is not a bed of roses' very early on. Looking back at the moment still gives me the shiver. That's why for the longest time I can't even see myself writing this story. Then my mom Noas agreed that she will write 'the Event'. I know some of you may think it's better for me to write it down myself, as a form of therapy, but for this part I have to disagree with some of you.

My sister and I had been contemplating whether to undertake the biggest decision in our lives which affect the lives of Ninos and Cappuccino. Though for Cappuccino it was a bit easier, but for Ninos, it was very tough. We were contemplating whether to spay Cappuccino and neuter Ninos.
For some people, maybe it was an easy decision. But for us, it was heartbreaking because we know there was no turning back for all of us if we decided to go ahead and send both of them to the vet for the surgery. Like I said earlier, for Cappuccino it was easier. We don't want to add more cats in the house. As for Ninos, we thought since he's a male cat, we don't have to neuter him.
But then, we noticed Ninos started to act differently towards Cappuccino. He also wanted to go out at night all the time. Since during the day time, we left Ninos and Cappuccino freely roaming in the house, we don't want to accidentally realised that Cappuccino is pregnant, Or even if Cappuccino had been spayed and we spared Ninos from the surgery, he will attack Cappuccino. Therefore, we decided to send both of them to the vet for the surgery.
I had to admit that my sister was the one who diligently browsing through the net and study on the preparation needed for cats after such surgery. One time we asked a different vet on whether such surgery is dangerous to Ninos and Cappuccino. He told us that for a male cat, the surgery will be very simple. However, he caution us that spay is a bit complicated and some cats didn't survive such procedure.
So on that Saturday afternoon, we sent both of them to the vet. The vet told us to come back for them the next day. On Sunday afternoon, both of us were very nervous when we went to pick them up. I had to admit that I shed a tear or two when I saw them in the cage. Both of them were very groggy. Cappuccino looked very frail while Ninos looked very confused.
The vet adviced us to ensure that both of them didn't lick their wounds. She also cautioned us that Ninos would be frail for a few days whereas Cappuccino would take longer to recover. We bought neck guards for both Ninos and Cappuccino to ensure that they didn't lick their wounds, but as usual, Ninos was telling us who was the boss, and refused to wear it.
Though we read so many articles which telling us that cats would be frail after surgery, I think no one ever encounter Ninos. He was up and running like his old self the next day. He also started to ask us to let him out from the house at night. As for Cappuccino, though she was very frail for a few days, but I think she started to chase Ninos soon after.
However, a week after the surgery, suddenly Cappuccino stopped eating or chasing Ninos. I had to bring her to the vet. Apparently she licked her wound and it was infected. However, it was not too serious and after some pills, she was fully recovered.
I'm happy to tell you guys that both of them are fully recovered from the surgeries. And both of them are still as naughty as before. We hope we took the right decision to have them spay and neuter. I can understand why Ninos doesn't want to write about it. Maybe he think that the ladies of EC will think differently about him, but I assure you that he's as charming as before, and naughtier than before.

So now you know the 'Event' that I had to endure. I guess my moms were thinking about me when they decided to go ahead with the 'Event'. I'm glad that since the 'Event' my moms are more indulging in my demand. Once in a while, they will give fried chickens to me. I'm also being spared from having to have bath every two weeks. I guess, life is beautiful though it's not always a bed of roses.

I'm glad that you really agree with me that I'm helping with Mom Noas' colouring book. At least I can always count on you to understand my need to constantly helping Mom Noas, though as usual she was not too happy about my help. :-P
Thank you for sharing your lady cat story. I'm sure I will tell Cappuccino about it, especially if she starts whining about her life. :D :D
And thank you for telling me that the reason that I'm gaining weight is because of the EVENT, and not because I eat a lot. My moms keep on telling me that I need to eat less, otherwise they will put me on diet. Now, I can tell my moms that it's not my fault that I'm getting bigger every day, but they should take the blame themselves.

Dear Lady Evangelina, you really are an angle with a golden heart. You like to the see the good side of an animal. But in this case, I like to think that you're wrong. I think Cik Tam is actually cheating my Moms. I think Cik Tam is actually a very ferocious black panther disguising as a tame and timid black cat. Behind moms' backs, he always growled at me and Cappuccino.
I know I can take on him and fight with him, but then my moms will reprimand me for being too harsh to a needy cat, though let me tell you a secret, Cik Tam really needs a kick or two or 100 on his butt.
I didn't judge Cik Tam by his colour, far from it. I only judge him based on his annoyance level. :D :D :D

I'm happy to know that you and Capuccino are Ok. I see you're even helping Noas with her colouring book... You're doing a very good job there! Btw, the other day I saw some of these colouring books in an art supplies' store and it made me think about your mom Noas ^_^
I think your moms took the right decision about you and Capuccino overall. I've heard if female cats are not sterilized, they can develop cysts or even uterine cancer when they get old, and making the surgery to an old cat later is more risky. That's what happened with my lady cat: I didn't want to spay her but I had to do it at the end, when she was old, because she developed some bad cysts. Everything was fine, but still would have been better to do that when she was a younger cat.
So... be happy Ninos! You're save and sound with your moms, even if sometimes you can't understand their eccentric decisions! Just watch your weight now... You might get a lil fatty after that surgery. But it's ok! Even if that happens, you'll keep being cute anyway! ;)
Hello Sir Camel. You look very regal. :) My Mom Noas says hi to you. She told me not to go out at night because she's worried about my safety. I believed my moms are worried about the well beings of me and Cappuccino. That's why they always listen to the advice given by the vet. Don't worry! I know I can manipulate my moms and ask an extra portion of fried chicken. :)

Well, you were half right. My mom refused to give me the access to the PC. She told me that I had destroyed the PC more than enough. But, let me tell you a secret. Actually it's not because of me. It was because mom Noas was so lazy to sit down and stare the PC. She would rather lie on the bed and stare at the mobile.
As for the 'new sofa'. I don't think it's new any more. Cappuccino basically is destroying it every hour. I guess mom Noas had given up on her new sofa because she barely whimper when Cappuccino scratch it to sharpen her claws.
I'm glad that you are on my side. I really need an ally. You know how moms are. They will always try to find faults at the tiniest things. Poor me! :(
I know what moms did was for the good. They really have gold hearts. And I know it was a tough decision for them to make. But like you said, it doesn't mean I cannot take advantage of the whole situation. Now moms, especially Mom Ayu always giving me extra fried chicken. (Let me tell you something, Mom Noas is a bit stingy with her fried chicken).

Can I ask you a favour? Can you bring down the wrath of Zeus and zap Cik Tam? Who's Cik Tam. He's an annoying black stray cat that always coming to the house and asking food from moms. And moms will always give him food. And if he's in front of the door, he will prevent me from stepping out from the door. I'm not afraid of him, mind you. But since he's as black as the panther and really annoying, I prefer not to test his temper. I really appreciate if you could help me to zap him out from the door. :)))))
Well, since Mom Noas like to do colouring, I'm also started to like it too. That's why I like to help her. Though sometimes she told me to stop sitting on her colouring book, but hey... that's the only way I can help her. :))))))
