Like many of you I also have many unforgettable moments in my life! So, I want to write some more stories one by one. Here is the first one!

It happened many years back, then I was 17 years old. I went to my grandparent's village  to attend in my grandfather's funeral. There we stayed 3/4 days. One day I along with my cousins had bath in the pond. There they made a boat type thing with the stems of the banana tress. We, everybody rode on it. But, suddenly it turned over, I fell down and went under it. I was trying hard to raise my head but that floating object was everywhere over my head and body.....latter I tried to swim to a bit different direction, you know I got perplexed but luckily I got free space to raise my face and I could breathe! So, I have learned if we ever go under of something in the water we should try to swim to another direction!

  • The same with me, dear Bet. I can just float for a while if i see a coast next to me. Otherwise I prefer not to plunge into water. )))

  • @ Onee, thanks for the correction. dear.

@ Estanis, Thanks a lot for your words, but it happened in my childhood, I don't know if it happens now how will I react or how I will manage but to be cool in any adverse situation is the  key to survive , and, we should try to remember it.

@ Lana, I am not a good swimmer, I do not practice at all so I still just know how to float and swim for a while I mean I can not swim a long distance at a time as I get tired due to lack of practice. But, yes, if I did/do practice even now I think I will be able to swim for long time. I must be scared to the worst if I know the shore is far away.....dom!

  • Dear Bet,

If I were you I would be afraid of water and never swim again. It is great that your story has a happy end. It was scary even to read about your unforgetable moment.

I hope now you are a good swimmer and you can float safely for a long time.

  • I know this situation can be really anxious too so I feel you somehow. Thanks God our survival instinct works for such cases. Glad that all finished the right way Bet :)

Thank you for sharing your experience.

  • Dear bet,

It means you have the second story. Then, I'm waiting for it. lol. *kidding ^^

    By the way...

There we stayed for 3/4 days.

Please be careful when playing at your age now. :D

  • LOL, Bet.

Making a raft with stem of banana. I never tried that in my life, but that sounds really interesting. :D

I wonder if you didn't tie them well. I wish I ever experienced that. lol

So many thanks for sharing your unforgettable moment. ^^

I'm glad you also took part in this challenge. Good day!

  • @ Misha....if you can not swim then please learn it now. Knowing swimming is very important. My mother kept telling us....as our country is reverine so here everybody should learn swimming.

@ Roman, thanks for reading. Nope, I am not afraid of water after that incident as I know swimming and when it happened I survived as I knew swimming. Do you know?

  • Hi Bet!

    Your story is embarrassing :)

I guess it was that scary for you because of suddenness.

What about now? Are you afraid of water or no? I know that many people which faced the similar situations, are afraid of water.

    Thank you for sharing!

  • I am more helpless in such situations because I do not know swimming.

It was hell of an experience for you bet.

    Nicely managed writing.
