1. What is distance education (ODL)?
Distance education (EAD) is an educational modality in which teaching and learning processes are done using information and communication technology, with accompaniment and evaluations compatible with teaching.
In these cases, the course does not require the presence of student and teacher at the same time and in the same space. The course usually takes place through a virtual learning environment (AVA), in which the student will have access to the course calendar, courses taken, support materials and classes.
2. What are the advantages of the EAD courses?

4. Is there a difference between the diploma of distance learning and distance learning?
No. If the institution and the course are duly recognized by the MEC, the diploma awarded in the course of EAD will have the same validity as those issued by the courses in person.
There are no specifications in the document regarding the modality of teaching, that is, the diploma will not state the information if the course was in person or at a distance.
Thus, with this diploma, it is possible to enter the labor market, participate in public competitions and enroll in post-graduate courses.
5. What courses can be offered at a distance?
The courses offered may be undergraduate (Bachelor, Technological and Licentiate) or postgraduate (Specialization and MBA). There are no restrictions as long as they follow the rules established by law.
They must obey the curriculum and the timetable specified by the MEC, with no difference in learning.
Nevertheless, Law, Medicine, Dentistry and Psychology courses are subject to the approval of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (CFOAB) or the National Health Council (CNS), according to the provisions of Decree No. 5,773 / 2006.
Currently, the CFOAB has already released the Law course, however, the CNS has positioned itself contrary to the EAD health courses.
6. Do I have to take a college entrance exam?
Not necessarily, but it is necessary to undergo a selective process, which can happen in different forms: traditional or scheduled vestibular, ENEM or transfer.
