The smell of sweat and blood woke me up. The blazing heat and the dry summer, is this what has left to life now? I love summers unless I have to walk in the sun. The particular nerve of mine never takes the heat otherwise. So, I never come out of my room till the sun is out there. The near by lake has shrunk to an inconsequential body of water. I had dropped down a lot of paper boats in it; I hope that is not the reason. When the sun shines on the white-washed walls of my college, it becomes a torture for eyes to keep looking at them. I remembered when my father saw it for the first time five years ago he was happy, the college really shined in his eyes and I got the admission. And here I am facing my last semester with only two more months of friends, two more months of college summer and two more months of certainty. So, the smell of blood and sweat woke me up. My black formals were still lying on the chair and the electricity was gone. I made my way to the washroom. The mirror did not show it all, traces of blood half dried in my nose. Precautions must be taken. I have to remain cool, physically...Somewhere in my head I knew a wise voice was saying, "mentally too!”It must have been the black formals which I wore for the interview. Covering the distance back from the interview room till my college room was head throbbing experience though I am sure that it was not only the sun. How did I walk back? With whom I walked back? I have no memory. Someone was saying it’s a matter of luck?Education of luck was not in our B.A.LL.B course. The five years of 'Sweat and Blood' was to get a place where I can sweat in AC [Air-conditioner]. But as some people didn't sweated enough to buy their real estate property or even to repay their loans or put their investments in better places the 'sweat and blood' of many a graduates are compensating for it. An extraordinary but a very real substitute! [“Limited intelligence” I think its AC’s adverse effect that they can’t sweat properly!]But nothing can be substitute for Lassi [an Indian drink] it has such a cooling effect on my nerves that cannot be described, the natural cooler, movers and shakers of the Indian summer. Electricity is back now! So, here goes my first post.
Lynne you are welcome.
Do tell me, how was it, if you ever try to make 'lassi'.
I am not able leave a comment on your profile. I comprehend what you think about 'recession'. Thanks for you view.
Hi lynne,
Thank you for the appreciation. Do tell me, what do you think about recession?
As for ‘Lassi’, traditionally it is a mixture of fresh non-flavoured yogurt, water, sugar/salt and cardamom. There is a definite proportion in which it has to be mixed in. For more particulars please visit this website [if you are interested in making it!] - http://www.indiamarks.com/guide/Different-types-of-Lassi-Recipes-an...
But, now a days, all types of flavoured lassis are in trend, so you will have a wide variety to choose from.
Have a nice Day.

Regarding my post, I am eager to know your opinion about 'recession'?
-Priti
Cardamom is basically put in traditional sweet lassi [as it can be sweet or salty], though it is not necessary in every lassi.

Yes, recession is felt all over the world.
Thanks.

Fantastic blog! Be it AC or an ordinary, small fan, it's now becoming a necessity really...
You mentioned that "Lassi" has a cooling effect. May I know the main ingredients of that drink? That's interesting!
Thanks.
